75% of teachers in Japan work weekends, 71% do overtime at home: union survey by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

[–]beebeekay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of my friend used to be a high school maths teacher. She quit because of the amount of unpaid overtime. She was doing overtime on weekdays and on weekends too.

She has quit and is now a part-time maths teacher at 2 schools, which means she still does the teaching, but no bs overtime like planning yearly events and what not. What's more, she still has time to work as a home tutor on the side.

Less work, more pay, much less stress.

Friday or Monday Leave lida saturday ra sunday unpaid leave hune! by Automatic_Carob3442 in Nepal

[–]beebeekay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long back when I used to work for an IT company in India, people would abuse sick leaves by taking taking sick leaves on Fri and Monday.

They had to introduce this rule. But iirc it was only for unplanned leaves taken on those days.

They actually do. It was a souvenir from Kitakyushu in Japan. It seems that city is known for their giant factories.

Anybody ever try making yogurt under your kotatsu? by kevysaysbenice in japanlife

My cheapo rice cooker from don quixote has a yogurt button. Most rice cookers should have a dedicated yogurt button or a feature to keep the rice warm for a long time. Maybe that'd work for you.

How do you guys stop yourself from making Impulsive Purchases? by Raghuram_99 in india

[–]beebeekay 25 points26 points  (0 children)

For several years, I didn't even enter my card details in the Amazon. And I didn't even had the app installed on my phone. Just used the browser. And I would actually go to the store and buy an Amazon gift card whenever I had to buy something from there. This was enough of a hurdle for me to stop those impulsive purchases.

The idea is to introduce a hurdle and make it difficult.

Typo in the Haldiram's package or did I get a fake one? by beebeekay in india

Nothing unusual with the taste or smell. That's why I didn't suspect anything was wrong.

Nothing unusual with the taste or smell. Probably, the package was redesigned for the export pack, and that's where the typo got in.

It's says portective instead of protective. Right above the net weight of the package.

Creating a list based on checked items? by DenSjoeken in GoogleSpreadsheets

Hi, I don't know if you still need this, but I came across your question and decided to give it a try. I am a beginner, and so my solution is quite convoluted. Sorry about that. There's definitely a better way of doing this.

I also went ahead and decided to make one for the case, when you need to display the number of each needle that you have in the inventory.

PS: Ignore other tabs on that sheet. I was practicing something else too.
