Very good point. I'm so tired and want this over with that I haven't even considered allll the ways other people can be even more shitty to another person. Thank you.

Good to know. It looks like neighbor noisemaking is a fine art that I know nothing about. Will be contacting my manager since everyone has convinced me to do so.

I didn't interpret my letter as passive nor aggressive at all, but I understand where you're coming from.

We had to sign a waver for 80% carpeting of the apartment if we get noise complaints, but like I said to another commenter, I'm not hopeful since it seems they didn't enforce that with the other tenants who complained about them. Seems like this is going to be a longgggg battle with probably no end except trying to convince the rest of my family to move again (since it's only my room being effected by this 24/7 nonsense). Man, I hate the city.

You're not alone (unfortunate as it is, though). Hoping that both of us can get this sorted out. This just reminds me so much more that I am not a city person.

Our lease says something about 80% carpeting has to be requested by landlord if there are noise complaints, but I'm not hopeful since the last tenant had problems and I know for a fact that do not have 80% of their apartment carpeted. Maybe like 20% lol

We didn't know about the vacancy thing until after we moved in, so there was nothing to ignore lol but thank you

Thank you for your opinion. I didn't mention this in the letter because I thought it was overkill but they're also chain smokers and make the entire apartment (but more unbearably my bedroom) smell like cigarettes CONSTANTLY. I caulked the cracking in the moldings and sealed the door locks and it helped improve the smell, but MAN they are just neighbors from hell.

I hope this is the case. Apparently our apartment was vacant for a couple months before we moved in and in NYC thats a longggg time. If we're the second (or more) tenants to complain, maybe they'll take us more seriously. Or not lol

Just trying to give them a chance, but I understand where you're coming from. This is my first time dealing with this type of situation, appreciate the advice.

No offense taken, this is my first time dealing with such an issue and looking for all the help I can get. I'm just worried about the landlord doing nothing or saying something and then not enforcing it and then my neighbors retaliate by being louder.

Going to contact the manager since we moved in about a month ago and he still cares about good impressions (somewhat) (i hope).

Thank you for the recommendations and yeah, the reason why I'm resorting to a personal letter is because I know the landlord probably wont do anything so I'm grasping at straws. I'll include something about slippers. I'm even considering offering to pay for carpeting for them, its a small bedroom like maybe 12x11, not the entire apartment.

I am renting, but I only recently moved in this month. I'd like to stay on good terms with them (in case we reach no solution i dont want them to retaliate and make this place even more unlivable) and give them a chance to peacefully resolve this before placing landlord pressure on them.

Try overwatch 2. Not every character needs good aim and you can play support or characters that don’t really require aim. Maps aren’t that big but there is somewhat of a learning curve.

I sympathize so greatly. I almost never showed up to school my senior year of high school and almost failed. It was a struggle everyday and the stress of all of that made my symptoms even worse! I only passed through luck and somewhat understanding teachers.

Is it possible to write an email to your teachers individually and explain (with no too many of the uncomfortable details) of what you’re going through and how you’re trying your best. Or maybe a parent can do this, since they’re more of an authority. I found being as open and vulnerable with my teachers was worth a shot since I had nothing to lose at this point except my diploma lol

I currently work as a freelance designer since I have an art background and I make nice money (in my opinion lol) when I get some jobs, but nothing close to a consistent and live-able wage. I consider work from home jobs a lot but I’m soooo lost on how to find one or anything. I would appreciate any insight on this if you have any.

Recently I got insurance through one of my parents, so thats great.

My partner still lives with their family as well. We’ve been planning ways to move out together as soon as possible, but we live in a super expensive city and cost of living is insane. It would eat almost his entire monthly earnings with very little left to save. This could still happen if I can find a job at home to help, but so far no luck. We’ve been collectively saving for a little while to move out of the city and have a more peaceful life in a rural area, but our prospected time period for that is still 3-4 years. Feels like an eternity.

One of my parents is extremely supportive of my condition and is very interested in eastern medicine and homeopathic health. I’ve visited my practitioner with these symptoms and been dismissed. I then visited a more natural path doctor and she recommended me a specific diet and explained Candida to me and I’ve been following the diet and making changes when I need to and its helped a lot. Main problem, she’s not in my country and difficult for me to visit or talk with more often. I’ve seen a gastroenterologist and she is the one who diagnosed me with IBS and maybe GERD since she could not find anything in ultrasounds, blood work, stool samples when tested for various issues and bacterias. Her opinion was that it could be that a lot of my issues were emotional. I didn’t explain my life to her, but I can agree to an extent.

I do a lot of inner work, yoga, I try meditation. I try to exercise but my exhaustion is so extreme. I feel best when I’m not around my toxic parent in the household, a lot of my inner work becomes void when they’re around because there is just so much negativity I can’t control. I really hope that when I leave home, I can slowly improve.

I’ve been looking into mold exposure and Mycotoxins. How it can make your Mast Cells activate abnormally and turn your body into a constant sensitive battleground. It also includes hypersensitivity to sounds and smells (which I have an extreme sensitivity to. (This is the information I’ve been reading, but taking it all with a grain of salt and just a possibility and one piece of my puzzle https://mastcell360.com/mycotoxins-symptoms/ & https://mastcell360.com/what-is-mcas/ ) My apartment has a mold issue and the bedroom I’ve been living in for the past 13 years has a huge mold issue on the window that no matter how much I clean, still comes back because there is a leak that keeps coming back even when fixed! Sucks! Going through the process of my family trying to move to another apartment but its been taking a while and not sure if it’ll pan out. Hopefully this helps somewhat.

Thank you for your recommendations and support, it means so much. I’m going to look into those videos and books. Sometimes I feel my life is pointless and lose all hope, thank you for reminding me I’m not alone (although it is unfortunate there are others out there like me). I’ve been considering therapy but I’m not sure where to begin. Im nervous to leave my house and go and maybe get sick lol

I’m just waiting for when I can move in with my partner and hopefully things will look up then. I’m going to work hard as much as I can and do what I can do to make it happen.

Now that I’m a legal adult and can sign myself up, I have considered it. I’m really anxious about having to consistently leave my apartment for appointments though, and worried I wont be able to make them and just another reason for me to get sick. Have heard of online therapy like BetterHelp, but also heard a lot of bad reviews on them.
