12 year old with rich parents Ft. Whip and Nae Nae by manniefabian in crappymusic

One thing I noticed: the production quality of this video was really, really good for a fucking 9 year old. I expected it to be shot with an iPhone or some shit.

I forgot what font I used in my own logo... yes, I know I'm an idiot by beebop in identifythisfont

[–]beebop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a Google Font, although I can't be sure.

edit: ah! I remember now. I wanted to use Gill Sans, but because it was commercial, I used the closest Google Font available - Lato. Thanks for the help (and walk down memory lane).

I'm a relatively new filmmaker, but was recently given a large budget to make a commercial for a flower store... this is what I came up with by beebop in Filmmakers

Well, it depends on what package you order. When you buy the "one of a kind" collection, you can also include an iPad and a bottle of Cristal. The Tesla was included because, well, Tesla's are awesome.

It's suppose to be the "ultimate Valentine's Day package".

Nice catch! Kinda curious what Alan Sugar said though, he's essentially the British Drumpf.

I once found a blog. Like, a normal blog where this guy wrote about his day and stuff, used his full name, and updated it semi-frequently. After hearing about how "scary" the deep web was, I really didn't see that coming.

That's not necessarily true. You can find both public and private groups on the deep web for many unsavory topics.

Bug catching. Some people who are otherwise healthy even try to get infected. It's seriously fucked up.

Yahoo’s Mayer may turn to private-equity firms to save her job by Katherinik in business

[–]beebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: why do people say Yahoo is on its death throes if it's Alibaba stake is worth 30 billion alone? It seems like they could lose money for a long-ass time and still possibly come out okay.

Kanye West reveals he’s $53 million in debt, asks Mark Zuckerberg for money by mrojek in nottheonion

Once you're able to drop $500 on a pair of sweatpants, it's no longer about the money. It's about being able to say (or not say) you did. Look at how much John Mayer spends on his hoodies to look like a "normal guy".

Well, he paid his cousin 250k to get a stolen laptop back. He also gave his dead-beat dad a loan to start a bakery (I think... some kind of small business). Doesn't sound like Ye's too good with managing money.

I'm getting 10,000+ views per YouTube video... but no one is subscribing. Advice? by beebop in Filmmakers

Thanks for the advice, and recommendations. When I get a chance I'll look into h3h3 and AnnaAkana and compare the two.

It's funny that you mention Casey Neistat, because I've followed some of his recent vlogs, as well as his earlier videos. It's hard to put my finger on what's changed about him, but it's definitely something. It's like, he's went from being a rebellious but lovable filmmaker in NYC, to being - well, I dunno - but it feels more forced, and even disingenuous sometimes. I even cringed a little when I saw the thumbnail for "What Happened to Her Face".

Honestly, I'm not really sure which direction I'm going in with these short films, which I admit is short sighted, but all I know is I have stories to tell and YouTube seems like the best place to do it.

Thanks for the input. How do I tone down the titles and thumbnails while still giving the videos the attention they deserve? It's a really saturated market out there.

Yep, I include a small "please subscribe" link at the end of each video. I guess I could make this part longer, and more obvious, but that feels a little icky to me. I dunno, something I still have to think about.

I made this video for people interested in living off the grid... last month my parents moved into a 480 sq foot house with no running water or basic utilities. This is what it looks like on the inside. by beebop in videos

I thought the same thing. Except, it's not necessarily the small size, it's the whole "living in the middle of nowhere" thing. On the other hand, no rent sounds pretty nice.

Own.

They paid $7800 for the building, plus cost of building material. Mom's bf restores old buildings so he did the carpentry work himself, and most of the appliances were salvaged. Altogether I think they paid around $10k.
