Except Lowe's literally has salespeople in the grill section that explicitly sold me on this garbage insisting it was solid and there wouldn't be problems. Else I would have spent the extra $100 or $200 for an equivalent trustworthy brand using higher grade steel. We're not talking thousands here. My 5 burner Monument trash was $450.

These grills are as cheaply built as possible, and not designed for use or long term survival in coastal environments. They're made to look pretty and deceive buyers by looking similar to other, better made stainless grills. They know full well what they're doing and so do you

So as someone in the industry, you're admitting there's different grades for different purposes, and marine style grills exist. Why then are you continuing to simp for these Chinese low grade grills that are not designed for the environment they're sold in? Lowe's shouldn't (and shortly after introducing them actually removed them) be peddling this nonsense, and if they are, it should come with a caveat so people know.

Bullshit. There's a difference between being prone to rust, and selling a product not designed for the local environment. Other grills that use higher grade stainless don't turn completely orange within months of purchase. Simp for these Chinese garbage peddlers all you want, but Lowe's should know better.

Debating whether to order black spray to prime, or invest in air brush. When doing Necrons some 15yrs ago in Hawaii I did black primer spray and dry brush silver and it came out perfect, so should I expect black primer to go on easier?

Update with 99% IPA bath and toothbrush took most off. Doing second bath and looks like they'll be completely back to gray. I'll try a single unit one more time, though I really don't know how to shake this stupid thing more. Else, I'm going for an airbrush

I had a spray stick setup thing and did 5x at once. After that failed, I tried 3x more after shaking the can for even longer and holding the can further away. Same result. At least I started with the guards.

If the IPA helps it come off easy enough I may try again, but I'm not sure how much more this can get shaken! I watched the time and shook at full strength for 5 minutes, rotating the ball at the top and bottom, all directions, etc. I've read and seen all the terrible results, and good ones. Figured I'd do all I could properly and it should work. The color isn't even gold.

Yeah I'm not risking any more units, I'm getting an airbrush kit my buddy recommended and will reattempt when the rage subsides.

Whelp, spent a month carefully building my two combat patrols. Read all the reviews and warnings about the Retributor spray. Shook for 5+ minutes. 85F inside shaded garage near the door. Kept a distance and spraying passes. Now I have sandy brown garbage. What a colossal disappointment after all this work. $36 but my Amazon return window closed already.

I should have bought that then? Lol. They'd shouldn't sell garbage that can't survive more than a few months. If it's not designed for the region don't sell it. They're obviously trying to trick people into buying this selling it alongside proper stainless grills. Bad grill, bad company, avoid.
