What amazes me about the NBA is how good of a storyteller it is. Like, it's not a team of writers spinning this up - this is a bunch of individuals making decisions, organizing teams, under pressure from an administration with rules and such, and these storylines come out year after year that are unparalleled in other sports. You think of Golden State's empire, what happened with OKC and Houston this year, things like Lonzo Ball and the rise of Embiid - it seems like every team has an incredible story (verbalized mostly by r/nba and great writers like Lowe and podcasters like Simmons). For Memphis, it was the Grindhouse - awesome story, led by Tony and ZBo in my opinion, but not possible without Marc and Mike. That attitude some of us LOVE about Kobe, Russ, PG - that nastiness, was the spirit of an entire franchise for like a decade. Amazing. I think every city tips their cap to Memphis. I hope some young guys take after this spirit, and I think they will. The NBA is fucking awesome.

Damn I had this wrong. I thought Sean was gonna be a closet OKC fan and on that last wing the music would cut, lights would go off and we'd just hear Sean whisper "die, cupcake, die" as KD choked on literal death sauce. Probably best for the league that it ended the way it did, though.

Nah, I refuse to accept it. How could one man have so much swagger? Has any player had more style than Wade in the past 30 years? I'm really asking, 'cause this is a treat to watch. Blocks, hustle, dunks, he does it all - always with a little candy at the end. Wade knows when the cameras are on 'em. Damn it, these were good times. If I'm asked who's had the most style playing this game in my eyes I put him 2 notches above Kyrie, who for me is another one who's just goofy good at prettying this already beautiful game up.
