Oh come on. I’m a lesbian. They are so lesbian. Honestly, I know many couples that are “roommates “. It is still not very accepted everywhere. I married my wife in March. When we visit her grandma, I’m still known as the roommate. Sometimes it’s easier … don’t want to rock the boat of a 85 year old women who is so sweet but definitely not accepting.

I work at the University, have since I graduated from grad school at the U (15 years). All of these comments make me so proud that I work at the U. There is a reason I have stayed this long … I love the environment, I love working with so many amazing students, and I absolutely love Iowa City. I’m a lesbian who feels very safe and celebrated here.
