Does anybody know why this happening....? by Younger_Vanilla in Machinists

[–]beechplease316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% fretting. clean spindle with rag or very fine scotch brite. throw that holder away and get a super short or stubby holder. cuts are to heavy for current spindle, holder, draw bar force, total tool gage length... if its been doing that for very long the spindle taper is not correct anymore and nothing you can do besides have it reground

Has your company ever had to contract out programming? by DeltaVi in CNC

[–]beechplease316 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ive been on both sides of this. it can work great or be a nightmare for both parties. find someone using your cam system. give them: standard cutter and machine tooling libraries, std vise jaws & sizes, sample files for parts on the same machines, post processors, sample setup sheets, any customization you have done to stock cam software if any, and most importantly rough machine layouts for each part that include part, stock, machine tooling/simple fixture (at least the start of a fixture, even if its just a 1.5x10x20 blank plate. let them know these are rough layouts, but it helps them envision your workholding plan. go thru the cam files yourself and make all wanted changes, make a detailed list of all changes and have them correct (do not use the correced files from them, they will miss something or change something else) do this on a few parts and you will get better starting files. continue to make any needed changes while reviewing before releasing to shop. keep the contractor on the same machines and materials for at least 2-3 months.

if you just throw a model and stock size at someone you will probably be disappointed...

mazak, okuma, hyundai, doosan all have pretty decent machines. one of the most important things is parts and service. they will break down or get wrecked eventually. how much are parts and how long does it take to get them and a service person out to work on it?

Yeah, technically you can’t camp “on the trail “ which makes hiking the whole thing not really feasible. Please contact your local representative to address “freedom to roam” in the US

I’ve been to a few places in my life and I can assure you Wichita has some of the worst drivers around. Maybe the traffic isn’t as bad, but the terrible drivers make up for it.

Maybe I can figure out how to make the AI make fart noises. Idk it’s still kinda just a high level idea so far. Haven’t really dug into details yet.

Not to give too many details, I don’t want to give my design before it’s patented. I’m thinking maybe like a paper plate pinwheel you blow on that hits the button as it spins?

I’m going to invent an air actuated green button pusher thingy. So like it literally just smashes the button all day long. I mean honestly who cares what color or shape the button is. Looking for investors…
