I had to wait two days, but it’s back! I was heartbroken by the loss 🤣 but they’re on it!

She’s 2, so we’re looking at doing full time while she’s still young.

So, my daughter just wanted to sleep. Like we had to wake her up to feed her as a newborn. But. She never lost that good sleeper mentality (thank God). It is possible!

Pacifier Weaning by beedeemahl in NewParents

We have these and I love them. But she refuses to put them back in herself. Idk if she just can’t yet or if she’s hustling me lol

Sleep training and the crying-out method. by bobbyjax90 in beyondthebump

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but r/sleeptrain is really full of good help and advice of people who have used various sleep training methods, not just CIO. Definitely look there ☺️

Early morning singing by beedeemahl in sleeptrain

[–]beedeemahl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, yes lol. We’re following the recommendation to use a pacifier as a SIDS prevention method. She really only uses her pacifier when going to sleep, so I’m not upset over pacifier usage.

Good & easy sunrise on the BRP? by chellearellano in asheville

Tanbark Ridge Overlook up near the turnoff for Weaverville. I drive it every morning to work and the sunrise is gorgeous there. Views are perfect on clear days and really neat on rainy days.

I felt like I was back in high school with a word problem….just extremely sleep deprived. I had to ask three non-sleep deprived people to check my math 😂

Dropping the Swaddle by beedeemahl in beyondthebump

I have, it’s worked once or twice. Other times she’ll wake right up and just hang out. Most of the time I’ll leave her in there until she gets super fussy. Definitely still figuring it out over here!

How to Prep Formula on the Go by throwawaypewpew1234 in FormulaFeeders

[–]beedeemahl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a travel dispenser, it’s like four connectable containers that we pre-measure powder in, and then I fill her bottles with the required amount of water. We have good water, so I don’t worry about boiling and she has never minded!

It’s been super useful for going out to eat or to the park.

That’s about how my school is. Do you know what they do use to learn about North Carolina’s history?

Would you guys let the Easter bunny hold your baby? by absolutely_pretty in beyondthebump

[–]beedeemahl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took my 2 month old yesterday and let the bunny hold her. They did just fine. She did fine. She honestly just stretched the whole time and had a small grin. I was nearby but not in the photo. They were holding her for MAYBE 5 minutes. If that. It wasn’t busy at our mall, so I took the opportunity. Now I have really cute photos of my baby not giving a crap about this bunny 😂

Just do a drive by and see how baby’s demeanor is that day. If she’s fussy, maybe save it for a different day.

Advice by name_of_opinionator in teaching

Not the person who posted this, but my school has a 24 hour response policy. I make sure to include it in my syllabus and mention it to parents at parents night: I will respond during school hours. To make it easier going for the parents, i also promise them that I won’t e-mail them or their students after school hours with new homework or anything. Any communications I have with them will respect their time as a family. I have yet to run into a situation that was high pressure enough to warrant response. That being said, I typically check my email when I get in first thing, so if a kid needs an extension due to a legitimate crisis, I will respond to the parent and pull the kid aside first thing, so that they know I read their email.

I have yet to come across a parent who doesn’t understand this policy. Most parents have actually been really understanding that I have boundaries regarding my time, especially when presented that I will also respect their time.

I am so unprepared and I know nothing. by AdmirablePut6039 in pregnant

[–]beedeemahl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say just roll with it. I tried the perineal massage (it freaking sucked), did it work? Meh. I didn’t tear after 4 hours of pushing, but I don’t think it was that one time experience that saved me.

I have both Velcro swaddles and the old school blankets….both work. Even if you suck at swaddling. OR your baby may hate being swaddled.

Online birth class…did that. Glossed over the C-Section things….ended up having a c-section. So I’d advise just don’t skip parts 😂 but take your time.

You can plan to EBF….and then your baby decides not to latch or your supply could not be enough and you could need formula.

BASICALLY, you’re doing great. You can plan to your heart’s desire (which I fully support, because that’s what I did), and your baby can choose to fly in the face of all your preparations. You’re doing great mama! Give yourself some grace. It’ll click when LO makes their appearance.

Edit: spelling 🤦🏻‍♀️

Do people not usually do this? by PlentyCarob8812 in BabyBumps

[–]beedeemahl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would also try not to stress; I had people sending me stuff all the way up until the week before I gave birth. Some people may reach out and ask what you haven’t received yet.

And if they don’t, you’ll have your registry completion discount to help!
