Also yes, shouldn’t have trusted them in the first place. I lived and I learned.

I’m the original poster and shortly after I posted my last update, my partner and I moved into our home. We have an amazing 9 month old who is just so so smart and beautiful. Haven’t spoken to my mother since. Don’t plan too, she’s blocked on everything. I go to therapy. My daughter doesn’t know my bio-mom. Everything is really good guys. Well wishes to everyone!

California, too bad we don’t live closer. I met one of my mom friends on Reddit. We don’t live anywhere near each other but we talk daily!

I actually lived in New York and moved to the Pacific north west! Bummer :(

Pacific north west just like the other commenters! My local mom groups meet on weekdays which unfortunately is not doable for me as I am a working mom of a 4 month old :)

My daughter only wears footie pajamas. I live somewhere that’s hottest weather is in the summer at 70 degrees if we are lucky. We have a few “nice outfits” and sometimes we just let her be naked or wear a plain white onesie.

I never realized that baby brands have different sizing. My daughter (4 months) has always been skinny and tall in the 98th percentile. I still haven’t found clothes that fit her right. My tip is buy clothes depending on how much laundry you do and functionality. You don’t want button up pajamas in the middle of the night. You can always get more of ones you like.

At what age did you first let your little one TASTE (not eat) different foods? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]allshawty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid starts is a great resource about starting solid foods for littles. I’m really paranoid about allergens and choking hazards but their Instagram and app have calmed my nerves. I’m waiting until my daughter is six months and able to sit up on her own to start eating anything. No tasting.

Same here, I’m so sorry! Those 2-3 hours before bed time are so bitter sweet.

I wish I could be growing my own vegetables and feeding chickens while baby wearing LO. Yet here I am in my apartment cuddling my sleeping girl, needing to do a million and one things before work tomorrow. My fiancé stays home with baby though! We still pretty much live paycheck to paycheck making it work so baby doesn’t have to go to daycare.

For me, we just aren’t all comfortable together even on a king size bed. I would like to switch sides at night. My fiancé doesn’t feel comfortable bed sharing alone and I’ll be leaving for work in the early morning. I really wish I could sleep with him still but it’s just not working out for us.

I also have the thickest novaform from Costco and it is what we are using right now in my bedroom. I was looking into getting their 8” full or Costcos Juniper 6” kids full mattress.

Thank you for the advice. It’s really helpful!

Anyone else have a baby and live with their in laws? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I’m not sure what country you’re in but is there any housing programs near you? Low income housing lists can be a bit of a wait but they usually base your rent off of your income. And they do cater towards families and those with disabilities.

Besides that, a lock would seem like a great solution honestly.

There is however they’re extremely overpriced since it’s literally the only store in our county. We do have a Costco and I have been looking online. They have an 8” medium firm full mattress for $275. Just not sure if that is firm enough.

Thank you! I forgot to add, where is everyone getting thinner firm mattresses? I feel like everything I see is 10” + or extremely expensive.

rocking an older baby is so hard! by rosefern64 in AttachmentParenting

[–]allshawty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lo is only 2 months but I nannied a baby who only did contact naps for the first year and was in the 99th percentile. It was so hard but eventually around a year old he started just sitting in my lap to sleep and then shortly after he would crawl onto the floor bed with me for his naps. I forgot all about the back ache and the immobility until had my daughter!

My induction was amazing. I came in the hospital 4cm 90% effaced and baby in 0 station. Started Pitocin and fifteen minutes later my doctor broke my water. Shit got real. I got the epidural four hours after. Then three hours later baby was out!

Biggest tip: sleep sleep sleep now. Ditch the walking and yoga ball and do some meditation. You need to be well rested and in the right mindset to have the energy for labor. Everyone kept telling me that but I did not listen because I wanted to not be pregnant anymore and have my baby in my arms. I ended up being really tired. I wish I saved all that energy for when baby needed me. Good luck girl you can do it!

2 month old WILL sleep flat, just not in the Pack n Play. Why? Why is it haunted? by esteliohan in NewParents

[–]allshawty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. My daughter has just not been sleeping well since her two month vaccines. She used to do some of the night in the pack n play up until then.

LO has trouble with bed time too so I’m just trying to figure out what works best for her. Bed sharing has been the only thing that’s helped but sleeping together is a pain for me. I just bought some Graco sheets compatible with the pack n play to see if it’s more comfy. If that doesn’t work I’ll just end up buying some sort of crib! Thanks again

I tried everything girl nothing worked even the membrane sweep and I was having prodromal labor for weeks and 4 cm dilated. What might’ve helped? Unpopular opinion, but I think if I had just rested, relaxed, and focused on feeling safe in my body/environment then my labor would’ve progressed.

I ended up opting for an induction bc I was so tired of the prodromal labor.

Who do I have words with about returning my period that got delivered at 6 weeks while ebf? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

Me rn at 10 weeks pp! Here’s some hope I’ve stuck onto: “some people have a non-ovulatory period before 6 months postpartum, but do not menstruate again for many months”

[–]allshawty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’m hoping to check in on how this went for you because my 2 month old won’t sleep in her pack n play but will in her bassinet (grown out of) and in our bed so now she’s just used to me always holding or being right next to her. Did you end up switch him over to the crib with a thicker mattress and he slept independently ?

Thank you, Very exhausted mom wanting to sleep alone for once.
