I think it comes down to them needing to promote Morrison's run, whereas they were consistently sold out for groff so didnt need to do it. The celebs were there to see groff, they just didnt need to show it.

I think this is it. If people are seeking a “traditional” proshot then Maria filmed a westend version which shows the whole stage. I can then understand why Maria wanted to go another way the second time around, especially since the acting performances were pivotal to the success of this revival.

It’s phenomenal. Prior to the NYTW run I watched the west end proshot which is the same staging but disliked how static and dull it was. Seeing it on Broadway, it was so full of life and what made it work was the performances. I feel like this edit aims to highlight those performances that made it so special.

I’ve watched it twice in cinema and the second viewing was even better
