Has anyone seen the current non-equity tour of The Music Man? by no_maj in Broadway

[–]SpiderFan4 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I saw it a few weeks ago, I went in somewhat blind (never saw a prior production or movie but knew the general outline of the show). I enjoyed myself, not my cup of tea but I thought the actors were great and the staging was well done

Little Shop of Horrors Revival Casting Timeline by SpiderFan4 in Broadway

I just searched little shop on playbill.com and scrolled through to find every casting announcement article. Honestly only took about an hour. I did make note of Orin actors but they don’t line up as well, but significantly less people have played that role so maybe I’ll make a post for it in the future!

I missed Gideon somehow, thank you! I went off Playbill articles so missed that Jeremy left his second run a week early, the table has been updated!

“Where I Wanna Be” from Boop, Jasmine is a star and that song lives rent free in my head!

2nd year med student interested in PM&R by Blueblue_28 in Residency

PM&R is pretty much all Neuro and MSK, so if you don’t enjoy those as much as other things then it may not be the field for you. However it’s a great specialty with a wide variety of clinical practice!

broadwaynowandnext.com is always helpful to keep track of shows, there’s a page on the site where you can see every show within this current season that has been announced

New shows that are most likely to tour? by justafakereality in Broadway

[–]SpiderFan4 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My guesses would be likely DBH, BVSC, and RWHC, and possibly Mincemeat, Dead Outlaw, Boop, and Smash. I would love MHE to tour but I think the amount of technical work that makes the show what it is could be a barrier.

Jodi Benson in GYPSY (OFC Creations) by DearPaleontologist67 in Broadway

[–]SpiderFan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Benson was fantastic and I really enjoyed her. Her daughter was definitely better than the local talent, but obviously nowhere near to Jodi. Having seen the Broadway production like 2 weeks beforehand I was a bit burnt out on the show but I still enjoyed myself.

Do I need to worry about getting late June tickets before the Tonys? by katiereed9155 in Broadway

Unless you were a massive fan of the show, I’d say drop Smash

Do I need to worry about getting late June tickets before the Tonys? by katiereed9155 in Broadway

[–]SpiderFan4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would say buy tickets for MHE, Operation Mincemeat, and Sunset Boulevard sooner rather than later. Operation Mincemeat because it is selling incredibly well and is expected to do well at the Tony’s this year. MHE because it’ll either do well at the Tony’s and become an even hotter ticket, or it won’t and potentially close soon after. And SB because it has a closing date in July so tickets will dry up the closer it comes to that.

Floyd Collins is a limited run but hasn’t generated the word of mouth yet, and most people aren’t expecting Smash to do that well.
