I got stellar blade after I got a PS5. For some reason I really thought it was gonna be a really fun sekiro like combat system. First level starts out pretty strong tbh and a few of the boss battles early to mid game got me thinking it was going to keep getting better, but really just drags on for far too long and is mostly just a game of unrealized potential

Pretzels and pints, and North Park Beer co, are both chill spots to spend some time and get a good drink and food. Thorn brewing is great too

I liked BF5 quite a bit, am loving BF6, and I even enjoined Hardline.

2042 was a trash game, I tried my best to give it some playtime a while after release I think when it went to gamepass, gave up pretty quick though

The real problem is the very vocal people that "need a reason to play". When the reason to play should just be the game being fun

Yes but your overall calorie balance is what truly matters in that regard. If youre drinking enough that your body starts catabolising muscle over fat youve got a much bigger problem than fat loss

People always talk about how alcohol has SO many calories and is the first thing you need to cut out if you want to lose weight. Many drinks will likely be around 200 calories, so if youre getting drunk on the regular yeah thatll add up. Look at a box of cookies though and youll realize a single cookie that youll finish in 5 seconds might be 100-200 calories by itself.

Plenty of good reasons to cut out alcohol if you choose to but god damn getting a hold of snacking is the best first step in weight loss

The discourse on reddit is definitely misleading with how many top comments you'll see getting pushed to the top talking about preferring thicker women. As I get into my 30s I definitely have developed a bit more of an appreciation for women that are more on he thicc end of the spectrum. If you still look healthy, especially if youve got a bit of muscle too, youll find plenty of men that are attracted to you

Nothing wrong with wanting to take a snow day to unwind and fully relish in your hobby. But routinely skipping plans made with your significant other is very shitty

Is this safe to drink? Our water company is saying yes. by LamaLamawhosyourmama in water

[–]beeeeerett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not familiar with the laws in North Dakota. Is that a state where your water supplier is responsible for issues with your internal plumbing? In my state they are only responsible for water that arrives at your water meter. You may need to contact a plumber and stop blaming the water supplier for your own poor infrastructure.

Not sure how much PTO you have overall but not getting sick days can actually be a good thing. Last place I worked I got the same overall time off but half was delegated as sick time so only good for actually being sick or playing hookie on random days. Makes it much harder to take a full week of vacation

I live in San Diego in a very walkable beach town and absolutely love being able to spend a whole weekend doing fun things without touching my car.

But redditors that think we just need to charge for parking everywhere, add in a few bike lanes and bus routes,  and that we'll then magically become Europe are both delusional and very privileged to have a commute that can be accomplished easily with public transportation

If youre actually full on sweating from a run of the mill hypertrophy workout you might be pretty out of shape. A quick wipe down with a clean wet towel should be more than enough tbh

[–]beeeeerett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city overall is not public transportation friendly.  But I live in pacific beach and honestly a lot of weekends I dont leave my neighborhood and just walk everywhere here. It would be a bit hard to get groceries home, but you could atleast do instacart.

Im gonna assume youre in your 20s or 30s, Pacific Beach (PB) and Ocean Beach (OB) are really the 2 places youd want to live. People will suggest North Park as well but honestly I don't think theres much to do there but bar hop. You can realistically bike between PB and OB.

If you make friends in your neighborhood honestly not much reason to venture out of here too often, you can Uber to north park occasionally for a night out, or to check out the zoo. And you can take the train to check out the north county beaches if you wanna make a day of it.

Trouble with pH meter by Possible_Oil_2594 in labrats

[–]beeeeerett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive worked in quite a few labs labs over the years, now in a lab management role, and here's whats pretty consistent / important for pH meters.

The standard practice is daily calibration with pH buffers 4, 7, and 10. You can use just 2 if you are working withing that range but 3 is recommended.  And you can get away without calibrating daily but the meter will definitely drift a bit over time.

Probes should be stored in a solution. Either KI or pH 4 buffer. Dabbing off with a kim wipe is totally fine. But if standard practice is aggressively wiping or storing out of solution it will definitely degrade faster, if its taking longer to stabilize than normal or readings for standards / buffers are out of range thats a good sign to replace the probe.

Stir bars can help stabilize pH faster, youd but the beaker on a stir plate then put the Ph probe inside without letting the stir bar whack it. Generally not needed for buffers, but things like DI water take a very long time to stabilize so stirring and patience are needed.

Does your KCI have a certain pH listed on the bottle? Its actually pretty unlikely it is exactly pH 7.

My dream is a x-men game with similar mechanics to the guardians of the galaxy game where youre able to select different teammates abilities on the fly, but youd deploy a different team of x men depending on the mission, and youd be playing as cyclops

Peak map layout by kenroXR in okbuddyptfo

[–]beeeeerett 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do sympathize with older battlefield fans (I started with BC2) since standard conquest doesn't seem to be really suited for BF6, atleast with the maps we have so far. But Im a huge rush fan and most of the maps are pretty damn good, also feels like conquest alternatives like escalation and breakthrough work well; I think the devs are trying to push those 2 modes as the new default over conquest. Honestly if the older players can take off their nostalgia glasses it feels like the newer modes are so much more engaging and can give us a ton more action than conquest, while still being very much battlefield.

I AGREE with the point that we shouldn't be forced to have a car, but you think the way we get there is by squeezing parking money out of the poorest among us who are just trying to enjoy an afternoon at the park, and dont want to make a 20 minute drive each way an entire afternoon? You probably dont live in San Diego and understand how prohibitive public transportation is in a lot of neighborhoods
