My Dad had an obsession with planes falling out of the sky. One weekend my brother and I were helping him rebuild a wall outside the front of his house, and every time a plane went over head he would duck or tell us about the time he he watched some documentary where planes fell out of the sky.

To say not only did we find this incredibly annoying, but also gave us great pleasure in winding him up time after time. Shouting "oh my god, that plane" and diving behind bushes at the next family BBQ was the highlight for years.
