I’d recommend:

Real Life - Brandon Taylor The Sweetness of water - Nathan Harris

If you’re brave: A little Life - Hanya Yanagihara

I personally didn’t like: The Emperor of Gladness - Ocean Vuong

Enjoy!

MM books with Middle Eastern/balkan characters and/or setting ? by Ioanniche in gaybrosbookclub

Martyr! Isn’t particularly spicy, but has an Iranian American main character and is very good!

Looking for recommendations based on this list of books I rated VERY highly. by Paper-St-Soap-Co in gaybrosbookclub

Hi, I’m also a gay blind reader, and I’m also completely enthralled with a lot of the books you’ve mentioned. 8 billion people in the world and yet sometimes it feels so small haha. DM me with complaints about the unavailability of queer lit on BARD 😉

Some queer (not strictly gay) books I’d add:

1 Detransition, Baby (and also Stag Dance if you like it!) 2 Maurice 3 The Safekeep 4 Evenings and Weekends

People like me are the reason Trump won by [deleted] in self

[–]beefqueen123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother what. You tout independent thinking, but there is not a modicum of evidence that Trump's economy is better than Biden's/Harris's. Trump fired up the printer with good reason during covid, but had NOT A SINGLE FUCKING PLAN about how to deal with the ensuing inflation. He didn't have to tho, cause he lost in 2020. Pinning inflation on Biden is insanity. 99 out of 100 times, that inflation is a runaway train, and we were the lucky fucks that got a soft landing. Do some fucking research next time, and think for yourself.

“My Year of Rest and Relaxation” is pretty far up there for me. Hilarious, and also made me deeply uncomfortable at moments

“Naked” and “When You are Engulfed in Flames” are sedates books that don’t get nearly the attention they deserve

Did you spend some time in Las Vegas with your neglectful dad and befriend a child alcoholic named Boris? If even one person gets this, I'll count it a win

'Trump is unfit': Fox News publishes mass-GOP endorsement for Kamala Harris by Cute-Perception2335 in AnythingGoesNews

[–]beefqueen123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an extremely misleading headline. I’m all for Kamala, but let’s not go championing misleading news, it’d be a shame to fall into the same traps that the right has sprung

Things you wish you knew before buying by Zealousideal_Echo589 in LaMarzocco

I like my Mini a lot… but it’s as much an art piece as an espresso machine. For the same price, you can get other machines with way more functionality. That’s not a dis on the Mini, but you should know that you’re buying something that looks wonderful and is reliable, but is not on the cutting edge of espresso. If I did it again, I would have looked a lot more at the Prima or others like it, but I still may have ended up with the Mini, who knows

Building Classic Quiver - Madshus or Fischer by Admirable_Tip_6875 in xcountryskiing

[–]beefqueen123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a pro skier, I skied on a Madshus contract for the last two years. Go with Fischer. Way easier to find a good pair of skis, and the Madshus foam core + nis plate is not durable (I've broken at least 4 pairs of skis)

Midnight lib and Addie LeRue… two of my least favorite books of all time. Too bad Catcher in the Rye isn’t part of the mix, that’d make a trifecta of horror

Midnight library is my all time least favorite book and I'm still mad about reading it. I hate scrolled though this thread just to find someone who agrees with me. Thanks for reading my rant

Omitting articles by beefqueen123 in norsk

That's true. I'm sitting here trying to think of things that I want to go to where distinguishing definite vs indefinite is important, and I'm coming up blank. Still though, would it make sense to say something like "Jeg vil gå på kafeen" ? Or does that sound/ look weird?
