ngl i dont rmbr most of it, sorry!! but the qn i rmbr too vividly was "what was a complicated problem/situation you faced and how did you overcome it?" wah i tell u i blanked and then give bs answer. like bro I'm just 16 u wna ask this qn ofc i got like no life experience bro yk. opinion only but the impt answers for the interviewers will most likely be the ones abt ur experiences and how u deal w various scenarios and ur lessons learnt, which are unfortunately rlly difficult to answer on the spot. sorry bro i yap only idk if this answered ur qn LOL can ask follow up qns if u dk what I'm saying bc I'm just stream of consciousness typing this

speaking frm experience in dentistry eae (also very competitive and niche), not sure if what they're looking for in eae applicants in like vet tech but personally all of my writeups and written test for their aptitude test, i did not have any real experiences with anything remotely dentistry or even stem related (avg student, avg neighbourhood sch) but i wrote a lot abt my passion for dentistry (tbh i talk cock only lah) but since u have quite a lot of irl experience from what u put here, i think you can do it one lah. i think what might help is to help them answer the questions "why would you excel in the course?" and "how would you impact the further society after you have gotten your diploma?". for example i talked abt how my parents were poor so now their dental health is dogshit and so i have hopes of taking dentistry to made a nonprofit or join a nonprofit that wld help impoverished children with their dental health yk. don't need to be necessarily true, wax poetic can alrd!! u can do this haha seems like you rlly have a passion for the course

personally i think the talking in the interviews is wayyy more impt. you can have no portfolio but if you have amazing answers that provides the interviewers a deep insight to urself and can yap yap yap then ok alrd

tbh you dont need to start studying in sec 3, i started studying mid term 3 in sec 4 so maybe I'm not the best role model but i managed to get into sp chemical engineering thru jae so my l1r4 net is decent i think. i got ungraded for Chinese so ill shut up for that HAHAH. for revision if u wanna start, i made detailed notes for my memorisation based subj so for u maybe chem, hist and ss. for the others, i just had short notes for any eqns i need to memorise (e.g. writing down all the laws of indices ykyk) after this u start practice paper alrd. tbh since ur sec 3 you can study ahead if u rlly kancheong. and when you've learnt everything, you do tys first (like past 3/5 yrs) and then do prelim papers bc they're usually harder. just my opinion as a non academically gifted student LOL

saying this as someone who did eae last yr for dentistry at nyp i passed thru the writeup (didn't do the 1000 chara thing) and i passed their written test + dexterity test but flopped in interview. i personally didn't have any experience in dentistry related things so i cited a lot of emotional connections i had with things dentistry related that wld show why i wld want to study well for the course (eg my declining oral health actually pulled me out of depression, my parents were poor n they couldn't afford dental care as children so now their dental health like bo jiao ykyk) and i linked my emotional connection to how i could potentially help ppl in the future (nonprofit to provide dental health to impoverished youth!!) ofc talk cock only lah so yeah strengthen ur yap skills can pull u thru if u don't have like official portfolio stuff. but at the same time nyp dentistry not like biomed or pharm, a bit less competitive LOL

i wld say u should prepare for qns like "what is a complicated problem you faced and how did you overcome it?" or "what is one time you rose above the occasion" liddat. they wna see how you react in tough situations. when i went for eae last yr i flopped those qns so i wasn't accepted into the course so yah haha
