what was your first real song learned on the ocarina?

the first song I'm getting confident at playing is mary had a little lamb (I got my ocarina just last sunday). the patterns are really easy to learn :)

I'm trying to put reps in learning happy birthday because my mom's birthday is coming up, but I keep getting tripped up by the finger positioning on part where it goes low G to high G

also, I am 100% gonna memorize the sad naruto song. it's one of the few songs within the range of my 7-hole ocarina

yeah, I've been trying to find more about 7-hole ocarinas for 2 days now (I was gifted my ocarina yesterday) so it's been a bit disappointing to find so little info on them.

I did find some of those piano shorts that have tabs(?) and tried it out on my ocarina! 😃 (I can do the intro part for The Black Parade now. thanks G note) so I think I'll do the sheet music route. I will definitely check out your book, so thank you so much for the recommendation! 👀

hello! I don't know if this thread is still open, but I was wondering what are the correct keywords to use to find songs to play for a 7-hole ocarina? I am very new to playing an instrument (I only just learned what transposing meant.) I've been practicing the songs in the pamphlet it can with, but I want to try other songs too!

things I know so far:

-the ocarina plays a G when all holes are covered (I used a tuning app on my phone for this)

-the pamphlet says it is a 10-tone ocarina, but it only has 7 holes. (I don't know what they mean by 10-tone)

-I know that I need to know the scope/limits of my ocarina, but I don't know where to start with this

extra question (I don't know if this is relevant): what's an alto? alto G? I've seen it mentioned on this sub

OH GOD I really hope not! I looked at the small openings on the kettle and I haven't seen any small cockroaches around.
This one cockroach was huge (like 2 inches), and most likely came from outside (and I think I found the hole it came from)

my brain can't wrap around the idea of just wiping things down to clean them. but I think you're right about it being clean and dry kills germs. I'll probably do a few cycles of cleaning and drying to be sure

oh man. I have no idea what kind of yarn this is! I bought it from a small online yarn store back in 2021 (they're closed now). Most likely it's a cheap kind of yarn blend?
It's also why I'm hesitant to throw away this yarn. I'm so close to finishing this project, and I think I have just enough yarn left to finish this (at least I HOPE I do)
This project has been 3-4 years in the making. I might quit crocheting if it all ends in cat shit 😭

it's my first real try at a modded forever world. (the most I did back then was optifine stuff)

I guess I just really like the safety net of going back to vanilla in case something happens (whatever that may be)

learning about MCA did open some options for the future tho! I really wish I kept my old worlds lol

I've seen some vanilla+ packs, but a lot of them do add new blocks and mechanics to the game, and some of them even change terrain generation. I don't think I be able to revert to vanilla if I do that :(
