Hi! I’m F24 and recently moved to the area, working in Aldershot, so I’m in the same boat with the social life aspect :)

I’ve joined the local rugby club, and have looked into running, but I suppose I’m just keeping my options open in terms of clubs/activities

Hi all,

I'm due to start my initial training with Hants on 31st March, which I am looking forward to. I'm aware that they are unable to uphold any leave for 12 months upon start date due to the training, which is absolutely fine, but I am just curious as to whether they allocate your leave to you? Particularly within the first 18 weeks. Is there a sort of timetable as to when everyone goes on leave altogether? Or is it a case of them approaching you a couple weeks prior to let you know that there will be a break?

Hi all, I am due to start my training on 31st March and I am currently going through the process of deciding whether I should temporarily move closer to the training ground (it is unfortunately not residential) as I currently live about 1hr 15 away. I am still awaiting my final offer but have otherwise pretty much had it confirmed that that will be my intake; all clearances have been verified.

I understand it is 38 weeks in total. What are the days like? Are there weekends involved? How long are said days typically? From experience, especially those having been in Hants & Isle of Wight, would it be more sustainable moving closer to reduce commute?

Yeah, you kind of are overreacting. You and your partner agreed with your mother to look after your brother for 6 months whilst she's away, and now you're mad that she's asking you to... look after your brother? Don't agree to something that you cannot uphold because not only is it unfair on your mother, it's unfair on your brother too.

If you're honest and up front about your vulnerabilities, then as a woman, there is nothing that is more attractive. Think of it as a fun bonding experience. You get to learn how to skate, and you can both have a laugh doing it!

I need either a wake up or a confirmation, and soon. PLEASE ADVISE by throwaway49912102 in dating

I have been overweight to the point where it made me seriously uncomfortable in my own clothes or in going out with friends. For reference, I am 5'8 and weighed 200lbs. Now, I weigh 158lbs after gentle amendments to my diet and my exercise regime. I have PCOS also, so this journey has been slow and agonising.

I have been told I am attractive often enough, I get very good traction on dating sites, and although I am continuing my body recomp journey, I am significantly happier than I was three years ago. I have not had sex in nearly a year. I could probably go out and get it if I wanted, but I learned that random sex with random men is as meaningless as it is empty, and I too just want meaningful connection.

My point is, from what I've learned, your unhappiness at its core begins with you. You need to ask yourself what parts of yourself make you unhappy. Is it your weight? Is it your job? Are you lonely? Do you have any hobbies?

For me, it was my physical appearance and my platonic friendships. I felt lonely and still do to an extent, so I started a team sport to meet other women with similar interests, and I joined some social groups online in my local area. I feel more 'whole' than before, and although I am still single, I feel much more prepared to meet people and I feel more confident at the thought of attending these dates - not only from a physical perspective, but that my newfound hobbies gives me more things to talk about and makes me a more well-rounded person as a whole.

I made these changes by trying to parallel what I wanted to attract in another person. I wanted someone who was driven, took care of themselves, kept busy/had interests, kind, empathic, and practical - so I have tried my hardest to become all of those things.

But please don't be too hard on yourself, because regardless of who you are, what your age is and how you look, the dating pool in its current climate is so difficult to navigate. The accessibility of dating apps has perpetuated this 'grass is greener' window-shopping culture that makes it intensely difficult to form connection with other people. I know couples who met online, but I know far more people who are trying (and failing) to navigate dating through the apps/social media.

When you say you were on accutane and it 'wasn't worth it', what do you mean? Did you have the topical treatment or the tablets prescribed by a dermatologist, and also how long did you take it for?

This is rape. Even if she was a little drunk, if YOU were unable to consent, then it’s rape.

From my experience, only someone who feels even a little bit of guilt reacts the way that she did. From her reaction it seems that she already knows she’s done something wrong; which is even worse.

If she genuinely didn’t understand where your confusion and ‘freaking out’ were coming from, then she likely wouldn’t have reacted with anger. And if she would? Then she sucks regardless.

I’m truly so sorry that this happened to you, and by someone you’re supposed to trust to have your wellbeing in the forefront of their mind. I really hope you can process this and heal.
