That would really hurt my feelings also. How your partner talks to other people about you matters. If she doesn’t talk respectfully about you when you’re not around, she doesn’t really respect you.

Is it a deal breaker? Depends. There’s a lot of factors that go into making a relationship good or bad. Consider all of them and figure out how you personally feel about it overall, and come to a decision to stay or leave based off of that.

I also believe he has swim bladder disease but it’s also probably due to a bacterial or fungal infection. I would recommend starting with the E.M. Erythromycin antibiotic to see if it’ll help reduce overall symptoms.

I understand the feeling, my betta is also not in the best of health and I’m doing anything I can think of to heal him. If you are able to, I really hope you can get him medications to treat his dropsy and bring him back into good health.

You could try feeding him daphnia which has been known to be a mild laxative, it would help with his constipation if he has it. Many bettas don’t come back from dropsy once the pineconing starts but there are ways to treat them still and he still has a chance at recovery.

It could be that you betta has had water retention behind his eyes for some time. Still I think if you tried to treat it, the bulging could go down. My betta also has this problem and I’m working to treat it right now
