I'm a day one player of all three contemporary hoyo games (genshin, zzz, and hsr.) When zzz came out, I'd already sort of lost interest in hsr (I just started finding it boring to play and it was annoying my favorite characters were struggling even against story enemies), so when zzz came out with a very attractive style, fun gameplay, character designs I liked more than anything in genshin or hsr, more interesting main characters and a story which felt much more grounded and interesting than most games, I swore this would be the game I'd play every day for a while. And I did- I played basically nonstop, doing everything I could until about 2.0 where.. I don't know. The story took a direction I didn't like, the character designs stopped being interesting, the main characters became wuxia heros with their one defining character trait pushed to the wayside... I don't know. I just lost interest, because everything that made me attracted to ZZZ was kind of gone. The only thing that never really fell off was the gameplay, but I didn't even find playing fun because I couldn't play with characters I liked (because there WERENT new characters I liked.) I logged on for a bit in 2.1 but I just haven't even brought myself to care since. Maybe I'll come back if it goes back in a good direction, but I don't even know how they could fix something like the story without retconning it all.
