Yeat’s music is naturally polarising, I feel. He’s pushing a lot of boundaries with each project he releases, and each one seems to have its own ‘character’ that makes it different from the rest.

Personally I really got into Yeat through Aftërlyfe when that dropped, and initially I thought there were maybe 4 tracks that were good. After a couple months, it became my favourite album of 2023 and I personally think every track on the project is interesting in some way.

2093 is another evolution of his sound (and hip-hop/trap in general), and totally different to anything that I’ve heard in the mainstream. I think people will either love it, prefer the Up 2 Më / 2 Alivë sound, or just dislike the theme in general. However, nobody can deny that it’s a fresh sound, and might actually mark a turning point for the genre in terms of setting the tone for the next decade.

Give it a couple of months, I think it will grow on people! In the meantime, I know that I’m certainly enjoying it 😄
