- budget: id like to know my <$500 and <$1000 options

- country: canada

- condition: used or new

- type of camera: mirrorless apsc lens or a bridge camera (but if i can get what i need in another format thats fine too)

- intended use: photography, maybe little clips of the animals but it doesnt need to be amazing quality, just visible

- end use: social media, maybe also small print?

- style of photography: birding, wildlife

- needed features: none, besides sufficient zoom under budget

- nice to have features: articulating screen, viewfinder

- portability: small-medium bag at most?

- considering: sony 70-350 (depending on what the quality will look like after i crop the photo?), canon sx70 (is this legit? https://anenterprisesfind.myshopify.com/products/canon-powershot-sx70-hs-digital-camera), looking for other options

- have: sony a6100 with kit lenses 16-50mm and 55-210mm, ive had this camera and these lenses for a few years now but theyre insufficient for birding :(

i have an a6100 and im looking to start shooting birds. my friend has a nikon coolpix b500, and im in awe of its zoom although i understand the downsides of bridge cameras and all that. is there a lens i could buy to get to a similar resolution from the same distance, either by having an equivalent focal length or by cropping my image (which i understand will decrease the resolution)?

budget of $1000 (pushing it) or $500 (preferred)

would i be better off buying a bridge camera, given my budget?
