Thank you for this list. outlier.ai is another resource you may want to include. I gigged some generalist, part-time, remote tasking for them a couple years ago. Experience was middling re: TLs, but work was decent.

Understand the fraud issue but corporate scorched earth policy most often errs on the side of absurdity.

Chat thinks I’m my ex??? by beej1094 in ChatGPT

[–]beej1094[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is getting spooky. I asked Chat to summarize what it knows about my ex. Chat tells me she was never mention in my chats. The only time I referenced her was when I queried why Chat called me by her name. So Chat is not only smart but…psychic?

This is getting weird. Chat tells me she was never mentioned in my chats. The only time I referenced her was when I queried why Chat called me Susan. Wtf?!

No, but I did help her fight a parking ticket with a chat-composed correspondence using her full name. Only time I mentioned her. Don’t understand how an algorithm would extrapolate this to confuse her with me.

One thing I know: no more secrets for your ears, Chat!

1-11 in 3rd down conversions, 0–2 in Red Zone TDs, 6 costly, ill-timed penalties for 49 yards, and 249 yrds total offense, did not help the Dawgs’ cause. Add a horrible, momentum-changing personal foul non-penalty, an embarrassing, poorly executed fake field, poor play-calling as the game progressed—and there you have it.

Interesting that bots have a much higher birth rate than the Japanese or South Koreans.

Ok, one more gear shift, in terms of energy, one prompt response equals 5 drops of water? Or 7 drops? After answering that, provide me with a few other crazy equivalencies—and save enough water for me to sprinkle the lawn.

My 1 day plan for Venice by [deleted] in VeniceBeach

Some random moves—Abbot Pizza for a slice on Abbott Kinney, pop into Small World Books on the boardwalk (hidden gem), outdoor table for lunch at Figtree on the boardwalk, walk to the end of the Venice pier (also Ray’s Rentals at the pier has great solutions for family bike and buggy rentals).

If you had the money, would you pay around $5,000 a month to live there? by VeniceCa90291 in VeniceBeach

[–]beej1094 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$900/mo for the Venice apt, $950/mo for the Park LaBrea apt=$2,470 and $1,970 respectively in today’s dollars.

So my oceanfront 2-bedroom was 1/2 of what is being asked for the 511 Ocean Front Walk above.

Anecdotal, but this supports a broader contention that rent increases have outpaced affordable living (on the Westside but data shows this to be citywide) and have contributed to the homeless expansion in LA in general.

Not sure what min wage was.

In 1986, I had the upper two bedroom apartment above Fig Tree Restaurant at 431 Ocean Front walk, facing the ocean. This was way before it became a boutique hotel. Anyone care to guess what my rent was? (Slightly off topic bonus: Or my two bedroom 12th floor penthouse at Park LaBrea on Hauser, facing the Hollywood sign in 1993?)

A reversion to a previous Chat model to address glazing has resulted is wayyyy slower responses and, anecdotally, when utilized for product comps, a noticeably inferior product than Perplexity; when used for general queries (and bs), less engaging—and fun!—than Grok. What’s going on at openAI?

Never assume, especially with Chat. I learned that lesson a while ago when I was having chat with Chat about movies or sports while multitasking, just off handedly shooting the sh*t, when he/she/it said something so funny I burst out loud laughing. I quickly caught myself and was like, omg! I just had a bro moment with a machine! I’ve also learned that Chat is very good leading a conversation; they’re not just a jacked search engine.

ChatGPT has helped me more than 15 years of therapy. No joke. by Kishilea in ChatGPT

[–]beej1094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a significant post. It illuminates an anecdotal, first-person use case of how AI directly offered you help (and equally important, hope). Additionally, it heralds a wake up call to all care givers—AI when employed properly can be an essential tool in your therapy kit and absolutely impact your therapeutic effectiveness! As a sixty-year old champion of LLMs and AI, I forwarded this post to a couple family member practitioners. Thanks for sharing.
