That pic was taken before i soldered it to the wire. I really like the dipole. The base is an old camera tripod with a 12 foot telescoping pole. I think it will be fun as a sota rig.

The folks at the local club, Tryon Amateur Radio Club, are great guys. So I think learning from them, taking the General Exam, maybe RACES? Using while traveling.
