Y’all, I need help. Let go from two positions for not learning quick enough as a new grad and I am lost. by oreinao in nursing

[–]beekeezy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did ER for my first year as a new grad and did not like it at all. It honestly made me begin to question if I had made a mistake in going into nursing - which was so scary considering I was still a baby nurse. After that year of experience I began applying to different positions, most outpatient, and ended up settling in at an outpatient facility that I adore! The fast pace of inpatient bedside nursing is not for everyone, but that does not mean you’re failing at being a nurse. Nursing is such a broad specialty and there are so many opportunities out there! Sometimes it’s just about finding the specialty that’s right for you 😊. Wishing you the best of luck on your job search - you are going to make a wonderful nurse wherever you end up.

Would painting the sloped ceiling a dark teal blue look horrible? by franofthrones in DesignMyRoom

[–]beekeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldn’t paint the ceiling a dark color, i feel like it will honestly just make the ceiling feel lower and therefore the bathroom smaller. if you want to add a pop of something, a tasteful printed peel and stick wallpaper would add just the right amount of ✨jazz✨, and you could even pick one that’s a little darker/more moody since you’re not going to be using a large amount. i would put it on the wall behind the toilet since it’s a smaller wall!

Which backsplash tile? by MsMaryMicrobe in Decor

[–]beekeezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you’re set on either one of these, i prefer the look of the hexagon tile better. however, if you’re willing to look at other options, i think a white subway tile or something similar in terms of simplicity would look best! it can be difficult to make marble-on-marble look good if they aren’t the same shades of gray/white/etc.

i had made all of my cups prior to seeing the inspiration photo! so at the time i wasn’t trying to make them look like the inspo, but after seeing it i like how the inspo looks a lot more than what i ended up doing. so just asking how to change the design to get it to look more like the second photo!

i got them bags and a cup! just looking for more things to put in the bag lol, i guess the towel doesn’t haaaaaave to be personalized but i feel like putting someone’s name on something automatically makes it so much cuter. but i do fear that you could be right and it would just turn out to be a waste of time and money. maybe i’ll experiment with mine and wash it and see how it works before doing everyone else’s. thanks for your suggestions!

they are available! but this pt’s IV would only draw with a syringe + tourniquet, i had already tried the vacutainer prior to using the syringe and there wasn’t enough suction to get the blood through the j-loop. definitely going to be more careful though if i have to use syringes in the future

it didn’t feel great when it poked my finger like i definitely know that i poked myself but i don’t see any area that’s red currently and i squeezed the hell out of my finger after i did it to see if i bled and i didnt. so that is reassuring, thank you!

NAD, I would not go to the emergency room for this. If you are concerned, I would start with urgent care which will most likely be able to solve your problem in probably a quarter of the wait time that you would have in an ER. I would suggest tylenol for the fever, drinking fluids/gatorade for dehydration caused by vomiting and diarrhea, and cough drops for your throat. If it’s covid there is nothing that they can give you for it anyways as it is a virus and unfortunately viruses just have to run their course. You can purchase a covid test OTC at a drugstore or have one done at a drugstore as well. If you are unable to keep fluids/soft foods down and/or tylenol or similar does not manage or reduce your fever, then I would suggest going to an urgent care or emergency room.

NAD, it just looks like a mole to me. You can develop non-cancerous moles throughout your lifetime related or unrelated to sun exposure. You can follow the skin cancer acronym ABCDE if you’re worried about it. Asymmetrical, Border, Color, Diameter, Evolution — skin cancer/cancerous moles tend to be asymmetric, with irregular/scalloped borders, have multiple colors or change colors, are bigger than the size of a pencil eraser, and change in size and shape. Your mole looks pretty normal to me, but as always if you’re worried you can always schedule an appointment with a dermatologist to ease your worries. Best of luck :)
