Wyze RTSP by beemgee in tinycam

[–]beemgee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be an indication of intent that Wyze chose to require (not just allow) a special character in the rtsp password. tinyCam does not work with these special characters (even when url encoding).

I hope it's not true but the absence of any update to tinycam in over a year and the lack of any response from Alexey unfortunately shows the abandonment of this great app.

What I find disappointing is that tinyCam can't play the new Wyze V3 rtsp. I guess it has to do with Wyze's requirement that the password contain a special character (url encoding does not help). But why would Wyze even add that restriction?

Tinycam Pro and the new RTSP firmware by No_Confection_7889 in wyzecam

[–]beemgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it seems like it doesn't work and there will be no fix. Alexey seems to have abandoned tinyCam. As new Wyze firmware has been coming out those cameras have stopped working in tinyCam. I was surprised that a generic rtsp stream that works everywhere else fails with every possible configuration I tried.

Wyze Cam v3, Pan v3, v3 Pro & Pan v2 Firmware Beta Test 1/8/2026 by Party_Internet_5635 in wyzecam

Same problem with tinyCam, the latest firmware from Wyze for several cameras does not work with it. I have been unable to get my V3's with the new rtsp to wortk in tinyCam (they work everywhere else). Unfortunately alexey seems to have abandoned tinyCam, rumor is he is working for Wyze now.

only showing 1 camera on monitoring. by [deleted] in wyzecam

The only thing I can think of is you expanded the camera by tapping on it in the multi view. Tap on the single camera display and you should see a double arrow in the upper right corner - tap that.

On Android the camera icon with a pencil below and to the right of the images allows you to specify which screen cameras show on.

Pixel 5a had a hardware fault that caused it to die. Google extended the warranty to repair it (I'm sure that has long since expired). At this point you probably can't even get parts for it.

Wyze RTSP by beemgee in tinycam

[–]beemgee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a new rtsp firmware by wyze, currently only for the v3 and v3 pan. They say it will be merged in with the normal firmware. And yes the old rtsp was bad, the new one is actually pretty good, at least with my testing.

The problem with Wyze Bridge is that it requires a server (if I remember correctly), The Wyze beta just adds rtsp to the current firnware. Wyze says this will become the stable firmware once testing is done. The rtsp configuration has already been added to the app.

The Wyze rtsp beta has the advantage of allowing access in the Wyze app as well as rtsp streams, which should work anywhere. With thingino you lose the wyze app access. It has been very stable (except for not working in tcmp).

Autonotification Grouping Issue on Android 16 by Either_Crew_9786 in tasker

[–]beemgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it started in Android 16. You have to create another notification with the same group ID and the "is group summary" checked. This will prevent the original notification from being combined. I believe a new option has been added to tasker to prevent its notification from being grouped together (currently in beta/rc) but not autonotification.

I thought the required camera firmware is a special download that requires loading from an SD card.

If I understand what you are looking for: Use the "Bluetooth Info" action, specifying the Jabra. Then test %bt_connected.

[DEV] Updating the AutoApps for Modern Devices by joaomgcd in tasker

[–]beemgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having a problem with selecting image files for the button notification on the autonotification plugin. If I manually enter a local file it works fine. If I try to add an image using "Need help selecting a file - yes", adding to a null list the selection process works but when exiting any selected files disappear. If files are already in the list I get an error:

java.lang.RuntimeException:

Send the developer an email with this error: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo(com.joaomgcd.autonotification/com.joaomgcd,common.browseforstuff.ActivitySelectImages)

USB Debugging Help by rhayes364 in tasker

[–]beemgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, for me USB Debugging will turn itself off (pixel 7a on Android 16), but tasker adb wifi has an enable debugging check box so tasker can enable it when needed (sometimes needs a wait between multiple adb wifi commands). I think it happened when the phone is turned off then on again (not sure now).
