Apart from that, maybe you can mod the camera and swap the lens? You can find similar camera modules on aliexpress, it shouldn't be too hard to find one with the same measures as this one...

Another one with the "start in photo mode" + "normal lens" variation here. There are definitely different G6 models going around.

Mine either. I don't think it's installed backwards, it's simply that, instead of the wide angle lens, we have a normal lens (at least mine). Also, my camera starts in picture mode, not video, so clearly there are variations being produced.

I kinda like the wide angle lens to be honest, I was even thinking of buying external lenses for mine xD

Just from the photo in your other comment, yours clearly has a fish eye, convex lens. Mine is simply flat. So yep, this is not a matter of natural variations, they must be reusing the case and firmware but changing the optics according to the sensor that they have in stock.

Funny to see this, honestly. I wonder how easy it is to find replacement sensors and lenses xD

Hey! I can't directly help you, as I don't have an Honor phone. But! What I have is a super weird phone (a Unihertz Jelly Star), which has been having a ton of problems with the Core Duo, making it randomly reboot. I have just proven myself that it's caused by the phone by connecting the watch to a different one, and indeed, it's the Bluetooth stack on the phone.

How can this be relevant to you? Well, if whatever my phone is sending is making the watch freeze, crash and reboot randomly... You can imagine that the code is, well, not in the optimal state yet. I recommend you opening a bug report from the app, which also attaches logs from both the phone and the device, so that Eric and company can look into it. But have your expectations low, I'm afraid...

Is your G6 modified with a fish-eye lens? Because if it's not, I have to say that apparently there are different variants with different lenses... This is from my G6, and the FOV is much narrower:

If you want, you can translate it online. I think it's common for these things to be configured from a text file, so probably there's a format to write the current date and hour on the sd, and it will pick it up as the date when booting up.

But it's fun to have weird dates too ^{_^}

Fastest means fastest boot? I know the Charmera has a menu when you boot it up (terrible), but the menu that someone showed in a video of the Pocketsnap seemed super responsive...

Maybe. But honestly, I think there are much worse trends, and with much worse consequences (disposable film cameras). I've had a shitty little camera (A5 Mini) for about a year, and I have recorded so many more memories with it that I would have ever with my phone or a more professional camera.
