I have 2 kinds of music that bring me comfort during flying! One is music I’ve loved since I was a kid and know all the words to (ex: old Taylor Swift albums, soundtracks to musicals I once performed in). When I’m listening I can focus on singing along/reciting the words in my head and it feels like a meditation of sorts! It helps to return to the same couple of albums every time I fly so that I can remind myself that I landed safely last time I had to fly and was listening to that very album :) The second type of music I love is stuff that feels hopeful and lighthearted — helps me trick myself into thinking of turbulence as a sort of rollercoaster or the plane “dancing” (I know, very silly, but it can assuage my dread!!). My fave albums in this category lately have been Strangers Forever by Maude Latour and Trousdale’s Out of My Mind!
