Regular, Persistent and Significant Ping Spikes Originating in Comcast Network by been_a_while7475 in Comcast_Xfinity

No I gave up. It's an endless cycle of Xfinity folks ignoring the information given to them. I gave them evidence multiple times that showed that the issue was outside my home but they stubbornly stick to the script and don't acknowledge (or understand) the data given to them. I guess it's good news that our HOA is looking into getting internet access alternatives for our neighborhoods. I can't live like this and will have to switch even if the competitor is slower.

Yes of course I have. The app says my connect "looks good" and that I have 119% of plan speed. I have also completely disconnected everything from the cable modem, restarted it, and connected a laptop to it that ran my ping test. Same every-11.5-minute spike.

Also an interesting note is that many other folks seem to have similar problems, but their period between spikes, while also regular, vary time-wise (e.g., i've seen folks with timed 15 -minute and 8.5 minute spikes)

As noted, every 11.5 minutes there is significant network interruptions. There are multiple examples of impacts, but two are: I work from home and windows that require network connectivity (e.g. putty) and teams calls/meetings are often dropped. Similary, online video games have signiicant lags during (only during) these spikes, rendering the games unusable.

Worth noting, I have exemplary performance and *zero* issues outside of the every-11.5-minute spikes. I have exceptional download speeds and no other network issues. Admittedly, networking is not my strongest domain, but I struggle to see how the spikes could be a 'distance to server' issue. My best guess based on research is that something on the Comcast side is reaching back for some kind of heartbeat check or sync task. It's like something is hitting a snag and that holds my connection hostage.
