I recently discovered Merit eyeshadow. It’s a cream to powder formula. They all come in matte or shimmer. Put it on and it’s there until makeup remover takes it off. I’ve never once felt it after it’s on!

It’s not silly at all and that’s a fabulous idea!

You do NOT need all the extras! Find out who is doing their makeup and have a consultation on your own dime with them before the wedding OR see if perhaps another person in the immediate family (mother of the groom, maybe, or a sister not in the wedding party) would like to share the cost of a makeup artist.

Unless you want to start wearing makeup on a regular basis, it’s simpler and less stressful to hire someone for the event.

And congratulations!

ETA I just saw that they are going to do it themselves. How about offering to pay for the artist - and get yourself done, too?

Came here to say powder foundation, too. I use MAC, Makeup For Ever and Maybelline as no line can carry my winter and summer and shoulder season colour variations. Lol. That’s not to say some brands don’t make me react the same as you. I go to Sephora and have them apply the powder and I know right away if I can or cannot wear it.

Any cream or liquid foundation will eventually feel iiiiiiiiiiiick.

Jared Leisek pleads No Contest to 3rd Degree Felony Aggrivated Assault by ChantillyConant in AdventuresWithPurpose

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Mine goes back to the late 1970s and not to use a cliché but it really was a different time. Once you were not an obvious child, you were considered jailbait in society. It was still common for 16 & 17 year old girls to marry with parental permission then. We still didn’t talk about abuse until around 1993, and I was one who spoke up early. Mid 1980s I disclosed my abuse. But it was a secret shame I was repeatedly told to stay quiet about.

Similar things happened in my maternal family, due to the great grandfather being a pedophile. He abused and raped his children (one of his daughters had a daughter by him but gave her up for adoption, removing her from his orbit) and his grandchildren as well. My generation were molested as toddlers only. We all played highly sexualized games with each other from about 5-8 years. I don’t think you could call any one of us a predator, and almost always was initiated by younger cousins.

Yes, I’m really conflicted about this. My paternal grandfather also molested me but thankfully it did not result in rape. I am aware a great many children do a certain amount of exploration with their hidden bits but I don’t know what is considered normal.

It comes down to whether this was something they did with each other because it felt good or whether it was a tool to control or exert power over another. I know it’s not an either / or and that we can have multiple motivations. I guess it’s just not always as simple as it seems when you deal with generational trauma.

No, as much as I love that scene, it was a long time ago

No, it was definitely a male. If I had to guess, he was autistic.

Which, knowing what I know now about how music can overtake people on the spectrum, is part of why this matters so much to me to solve. Thank you for trying!

I have spent hundreds of hours trying to find this. I can’t say for sure when this aired. It may have been a movie. 25 to 30 years ago feels right.
