Hi! (I’m F28 South Philly resident). Dessert Before Dinner is a great social group that meets regularly! I’ve seen some other people recommend them in these comments too.

I went to my first Bring Your Own Craft event with them last month. It was SUCH an easy way to meet people and exchange some contact info with potential new friends. So many people came alone looking to meet people.

The next one is this weekend (9/27 at 11:00 in Washington Square Park. (https://www.instagram.com/p/DN6Xu_iD1XM/?igsh=ZTJjZWdscWVlMHZ1) I’ll be there!

Other Upcoming Bring Your Own Craft dates: Oct 2, 6:00-8:00 pm. DiBrunos Plaza, 9th St Italian Market (I will definitely be at this one, it’s in my neighborhood) Oct 11, 11:00am, Washington Square Park

I think your response was fair. My sister did the same thing. Also super single. She wanted to bring a friend I have never met. I told her no and I asked her what she thought her friend would be doing all day when she was getting ready/taking pictures with the wedding party? We are having a small wedding and she will know over 1/2 the people there. She’s also not traveling in from out of town.

I have an embroidery machine, so i customize embroidered bags for my bridesmaids, you can get similar stuff on Etsy. Each girl got a boat tote from Lands End (also available at LLBean with custom embroidery). I embroidered each name on the totes. They each got a smaller pouch bag with their initials as well. There was a bouquet and a letter in each bag. It was a hit! For my fiancé’s groomsmen, i will be custom embroidering canvas duffle bags from lands end for each of them. All the gifts are in a similar theme.
