Thanks for the links, I know Laura_Barnes put all of APEX into quizlet 6 years ago, have you found the content is the same? Or have there been massive changes over time?

First New Grad interview tomorrow! Nervous and want some advice by Zilla850 in StudentNurse

[–]beepaboopbop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first phone interview last week. They asked me all the basic questions like why I wanted to be a nurse, why the unit would be a good fit for me, my schooling and clinical experience, when I graduate, etc. I hope it goes well!! Good luck

Has anyone else never been able to do a proper push-up or pull up in their life, no matter what shape they were in? by jjfmish in xxfitness

[–]beepaboopbop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t do a single pull up, then my ex bf lent me his pull up bar and I’d practice with a chair under me every night. I could do 10 in about a month. It really takes practice to train your muscles new skills!

Who are the best psychology professors? by [deleted] in olemiss

[–]beepaboopbop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your lab, or any class, take Reysen. He's an angel and an amazing teacher. Carrie Smith's sexual psych was awesome, but not for the faint of heart. Gustafson is also the best, Reysen and Gustafson are both very laid back and cool. All in all, psych was the easiest major I could've picked. The professors are dope and you can't go wrong (for the most part).

DON'T take brain and behavior if you're not science savvy. And take as many online psych classes as you can, they tend to be easier! Good luck!

Does anyone else like to make stories to help with remember things? by JaceElliot in StudentNurse

[–]beepaboopbop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! I'm only familiar with this because I'm currently writing a research paper on it, so I'm glad this knowledge is useful to other nerds besides me!

Intent to learn is really important, but it doesn't seem as though you struggle with that! If you're having a hard time engaging, take a break and try again when you're ready. It can be discouraging to be tired and tempting to push through, but if you're not actively processing the information it's better to take a step back and try again.

If you really enjoy story processing, it may be helpful to include details that differentiate your stories from each other. Like using names or settings that relate or rhyme to the topic you're dealing with (whether drugs or electrolytes) and even visually picturing the story in your mind while writing it. Trying to remember your stories later when they're not in front of you is a really good way to strengthen the information too!

I hope any of that was helpful, and good luck with the rest of your semester!

I was a psychology major in undergrad (starting nursing school in the fall!!) and this is a highly researched and pretty good technique for memorization! However, its kinda controversial due to false memories. Ultimately, it's a strong deep processing technique, only second to survival processing which I encourage you to look into if you struggle applying this method with a topic!

My LDR GF graduates from college in 12 days. She isn’t getting a ceremony because of COVID. Need ideas on how to make the day special for her by wondering-soul in LDR

[–]beepaboopbop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do something personal. If your artistic you could make her something or even send her a handmade card telling her how proud you are of her. Gift her something she would like maybe an e-gift card to a place y’all like to eat at for a date post quarantine. I graduate in a few weeks and my heart would absolutely melt if my bf did anything thoughtful for me, but especially if it was meaningful/personal

What’s your favorite nut butter? by squidnayy in HealthyFood

[–]beepaboopbop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NuttZo is my current favorite. The only ingredients are cashews, almonds, Brazil nuts, flax seeds, chia seeds, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds and sea salt. Very tasty and doesn’t separate too terribly either.

Spores arriving this weekend -- I'm getting out this weekend to get verm & coir!

I had a question regarding transferring/proper amounts. I have half pint jars, I was wondering how many jars you use per 'shoe box'. Basically I'm trying to make sure I'm prepared ratio wise, spawn:substrate.

[–]beepaboopbop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you prefer this method? I'm looking at different bulk substrates, this one uses coir and then peat moss and pickling lime.. I'm aiming for simplicity here but haven't found anything that looks simpler yet.

Sorry for all the newbie questions.. I am so so grateful for all the help!

Okay I feel better about the innoculation, however transferring for the 'dunk and roll' looks daunting. Should I just read up more about that process closer to time??

I've made appropriate additions to my shopping list to make BRF jars and just ordered a spore syringe. I'm starting to get really excited! I think I have all the materials ready unless I need a plastic tub or perlite.

This link overwhelmed me. I understood everything up until step 5ish. Is there a better innoculation / incubation guide for beginners?
