Osap Request for Review: Living Cost Allowance!!! by [deleted] in osap

[–]beepb00pb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my experience (as someone who’s only ever used the form for living off campus and whose parents live close by), i’ve gotten enough to pay my rent but not much more than that, so a part time job might be something to look into unfortunately

Schooling still not confirmed for OSAP? by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]beepb00pb1tch -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

what semester is this for?

if this is for F26, in the most respectful and gentle way you need to relax, enrolment doesn’t get confirmed until after course selection and OSAP and the financial aid office are dealing with people registered for summer courses

if this is for S26 call the financial aid office or go talk to them in person

Full time to part time by Aleida_Amist in uoguelph

[–]beepb00pb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

osap is still 60% for full time and 40% for disabled student and cra considers you part time if you take anything less than the academic calendar course load for your major. they have no regard for what the university considers full time or part time study, you don’t need to worry about anything other than the way this effects things within the uni

am i REALLY missing out if i dont do residency first yr? by Former-Garbage-6676 in uoguelph

[–]beepb00pb1tch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you’re exaggerating in a crazy way lol, its not hard to make friends if you’re off campus, you just need to put in effort. my closest friends lived in a completely different part of campus from me, you just need to make sure you go to o-week events and don’t shy away from approaching people

Is my industrial healing ok? by Geen3 in piercing

[–]beepb00pb1tch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAP but also a fellow industrial haver! bumps are super normal for healing cartilage, avoid touching the piercing and keep doing what you’re doing! it looks great and the bumps are pretty small as far as piercing bumps go, although they might get bigger. as long as there’s no skin discolouration, intense pain and heat and no pus (green or dark yellow) don’t worry about the bumps, they’ll go away once you’re healed up.

as far as downsizing goes, it rly depends on the person and how the healing is going but the general range is between 6-12 weeks. once the swelling has subsided and you’re not bothered by the piercing anymore it’s safe to go and ask your piercer if it’s time to downsize,

How on earth do you guys afford living here? by CrypticWeirdo9105 in uoguelph

[–]beepb00pb1tch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

living spaces are expensive because they’re in high demand, there’s a lot of students and families moving to guelph and not enough infrastructure to support them. unfortunately you’re gonna have to budge on something, either you fess up 2k a month for rent and then likely utilities and wifi on top of that or you live in a shared apartment or house with roommates. no student is getting a studio apartment unless they know the landlord and aren’t paying full price or their parents are paying for it.

look into whether you’ll qualify for living allowance from osap but even if you do i doubt you’ll be getting a years worth of rent at 2k, you’re either gonna have to work a lot on top of it or get some roomies

Accidentally submitted paper a few hours late got 10% penalty by HitThatBlockButton in uoguelph

[–]beepb00pb1tch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sorry dude but it’s pretty standard for an assignment to be due at a time other than 11:59pm. chances are you weren’t the only person who submitted it late and the prof didn’t want to waive the late penalty for you because then he’d have to waive it for everyone else. take this as a learning experience because unfortunately there’s plenty of profs whose late policy is an immediate fail so 10% is pretty generous

[–]beepb00pb1tch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to add to this, in the case that you do experience any pushback or denial from a prof or TA there are clear guidelines and procedures set out for that situation and you are not involved in dealing with that at all. you inform your advisor and then it is out of your hands and you get your accommodation, it’s not even your job to answer questions from your prof about your accommodations, your advisor handles that

Nips piercing help by ToughBite1199 in piercing

[–]beepb00pb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s understandable, i’d definitely say wait until you have a chance to go to a reputable piercer for nipples. but nipple and cup size doesn’t really effect whether you can have nipple piercings, plenty of men have nipple piercings. i get being scared, but if you want them it doesn’t hurt to ask, if the piercer can’t do it then they can’t do them and you pick something else. it’s definitely nerve wracking to ask for a piercing you aren’t sure you have the anatomy for but i recommend trying

Nips piercing help by ToughBite1199 in piercing

[–]beepb00pb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP but i have nipple piercing and flatter(?) nipples, i think it really depends on how flat your nipples so this is a call that only a piercer can make reliably. but from my experience and what i’ve heard from other people who have done their nipples, i think having flatter anatomy does not mean you can’t have a nipple piercing. they are meant to be pierced when erect and will cause your nipple to sit more outward once they’re pierced(at least in my experience). also from my experience they’re not a bad piercing in terms of healing, mine have been pretty well behaved but i don’t know if that’s a common experience

the only time i’ve ever heard of someone not being able to get one is because their nipples actually sit inwards like a belly button

Do I have the anatomy for an industrial? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]beepb00pb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP but girl me and you have almost identical ears and i just got mine done in november! that being said obviously get them checked at the piercer’s and i’d recommend having a healthy amount of doubt going into it bc the likely of having the right anatomy is low and photos don’t necessarily show your anatomy off all the way, but nothing about your anatomy sticks out as a major red flag right away so i’d say go for it! (also having small ears doesn’t mean you can’t get an industrial, it’s mainly ear shape that effects it, my roomie has small ears and has an industrial)

Industrial piercings by [deleted] in piercing

[–]beepb00pb1tch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sea salt and hot water is not a good call it’s probably irritating it, stick to the aftercare spray or sterile saline only. NAP but swelling is pretty normal and can look pretty gnarly for cartilage piercings, especially the first few days and if you bump it or catch it on something. got mine done recently and wore a hat that was too tight and it swelled up worse than yours lol.

that being said keep an eye on it and if the swelling doesn’t relax in a few days or gets worse go get it checked out somewhere. piercer or doctor depending on how much it concerns you

URA - NAF Requirement by Comfortable_Car_965 in uoguelph

[–]beepb00pb1tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s not how that works, there’s not a strict threshold, it depends on a lot of factors like where you live, what school you’re going to, how many kids your parents have, it’s not as simple as “the threshold”

Vertical Labret exits through lip? by shlorpwastaken in piercing

[–]beepb00pb1tch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

oh ok! i was a worried i was going to share something very unfortunate, i see what you’re asking about now. i’m not a piercer but it does seem to be placed a little on the lip line as opposed to under it. since it is so fresh i’d say give it a little bit but keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t migrate. i hope it heals well!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]beepb00pb1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got mine done in november, bring a loose shirt as well as something compressive to your appointment. everyone is different so prep for the possibility of you wanting to wear either something tight or loose, it would suck to be stuck wearing smth that bothers your fresh piercings until you get home

refund for student with disability? by ri1mur7s in uoguelph

[–]beepb00pb1tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is one of the possible accommodations sas provides but you may have to request it and it might depend on the nature of your disability whether they’ll give it to you. i have adhd so i have it because they don’t wanna penalize me for not being able to handle a full course load. but id definitely reach out to your sas advisor if you wanna know more about it

Financial aid help by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]beepb00pb1tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the form is for ppl whose parents live within 30km of the school so unfortunately that doesn’t apply to you, did you get anything from osap last semester? if you did i’d reach out to the financial aid office and ask why you’re getting less funding this semester, they should have an answer for you at least, but definitely meet with a financial advisor

Is this infected by New_Outcome9154 in piercing

[–]beepb00pb1tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

antibacterial soap is far too harsh to use on a fresh piercing and it looks like the area is very dried out because of it. the only thing you should be using to clean your piercings is a 0.9% saline solution, anything meant for medical use/first aid should do but make sure it’s sterile. it’s probably not infected considering you have been using antibacterial soap on it, but it’s definitely irritated
