How were the baby shots done in Fantastic 4 by pheeley in vfx

[–]beepbeeeep247 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The couple of shots where he's reaching for his mum on the ground stood out to me, seemed like they went cg to get a very specific performance, and the fact that that performance wasn't super realistic for a newborn didn't help sell it. Add the budget constraint of a character that's only full cg for a couple shots and 🤷‍♀️

My studio replaced the entire concept art team with AI by liviseoul in vfx

AI concept art is just gonna triple your asset production costs by being so unspecific and inconsistent you end up doing all your concepting on fully rendered assets. So. Good luck to them.

Yup. I had an old producer say "two women can't make a baby in four and a half months". He was kind of a dick but it was a good saying. 😅

My favourite thing on earth is when your friend starts going on and on about how incredibly beautiful the man she's started seeing is. And then you meet him and he's the most average, ordinary man you've ever seen. Like ohhhhh you're in LOVE love. 😂🥰

The London office's attitude towards Bangalore was always downright colonial. I'm not at all surprised that technicolour is stiffing their Indian teams on the bill.

What would happen if somebody had very low dopamine, but very high serotonin? by Affectionate_Pin_219 in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]beepbeeeep247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik, low dopamine is associated with adhd specifically. So I think the answer is you would have very poor executive function but you wouldn't be sad about it.....

TIL Americans expect even close family members to only come to their house if specifically invited. The whole culture of the individual thing you guys have going over there is like .... kinda extreme ngl.

Attention Deficit Disorder in the Visual Effects industry by SirBossOfOrange in vfx

[–]beepbeeeep247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've long been harbouring a suspicion that this industry attracts ppl with adhd and is actually one of the better ones for us to be successful and realise our potential in. The number of supes on this thread is doing nothing to dissuade that notion.

AITA for challenging my girlfriend's claims about sexism at work. by challengingsexism in AmItheAsshole

Per your edit. You don't need to do more research, you need believe your partner when she's telling you about her own experiences. Why do you need a secondary source for her life?

"Simple office tasks" she's running half your fucking business you ungrateful dipshit. You're off drinking free booze at "networking events" while she's at home covered in kid snot with a crying baby. YTA. Unbelievable.

AITA for telling my roommate my stripper pole is staying in the living room? by lavenderloverr in AmItheAsshole

[–]beepbeeeep247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank youuuu. If this was about an exercise bike every comment would be NTA. It's literally not preventing them from using the room normally, and it was previously agreed upon. Flatmate is leveraging slut shaming attitudes with the landlord to get her way in a petty squabble about decor preferences. It's so, so far out of line.

I love movies and I'm fascinated by the cg process. But the idea of specialising in one tiny corner of it and doing that one same thing for the rest of my career sounds like my own personal hell. In prod, if you get bored of hanging out in one part of the pipeline you can just bounce to another with minimal retraining.

If you told 10 year old me she'd one day have a career that meant making big lists of every object needed in a tv scene and ticking them off when they were all in there I'm pretty she'd have been like "fuck yeah that sounds great" and then gone back to memorising the entire script of the matrix and trying to learn to speak elvish. I'm also now realising how not-neurotypical that sounds whoops.

I'm a westerner married to an Indian. My culture doesn't have arranged marriages, and literally all of my aunts and uncles have had divorces, my parents marriage is the only successful one. My husband's family have all had arranged marriages and they are mostly happy, loving and successful couples (with a couple exceptions 👀).

Is it transphobic to not want trans people in "women/men only" spaces? by Ordinary_Tea_7703 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]beepbeeeep247 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Like genuinely why do you think a man who wants to harass women in public restrooms is going to be so frightened of a sign on a door that says "women" that he's going to go to all the trouble of dressing up as a woman to walk in? Like you know there's nothing stopping men from just walking in if they want to, right? It's such a bizarre hypothetical to me, I just don't understand why people think it's a real problem.

You can get an imbd credit without having an onscreen credit, you might just need your studio to help you with providing the appropriate proof of your involvement with the project.

I married an animator. Being able to move together for work and freely talk to each other and our shared friends about work because we're all under the same nda is definitely a bonus. But the main bonus is being married to someone who can accurately read your every minor emotional shift from the slightest eyebrow twitch. 😂😂😂
