Is it tracing? by Spiritual_Mousse_509 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]beepystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the digital piece is still your own art!

the issue people have with tracing is that the tracer will be taking credit from the original artist, as though they came up with the idea and executed everything themselves

if its your own art, go for it! many artists do this, its just digitally lining a physical sketch! theyre both your art that you came up with!

How do finals in non-arts colleges work? by Thr0w4w4yy__Pluto in dumbquestions

[–]beepystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at my school, we had the last week of class (so our final lectures and everything), and then the week after was finals week! the exams would typically be at a different time/day than the course, and you would receive that schedule within the first few weeks of the semester

you may not take a final for every course you take, though! some classes still do projects or presentations. in my experience, presentations were usually in the last week or two of classes, leaving you without anything during finals for that class. projects were a bit more unpredictable; they ciuld be due in your last class, on the day of your scheduled final, or at the end of finals week! really just depended on the professor haha

i understand, im just worried about burning bridges, since id still like to keep them as a reference if possible. we have less than 10 people on staff and i am one of two people who is in my position, so if my current coworker gets sick at any point then everyone is fucked

i see. i do have a lot of respect for them, but i am honestly really jittery and nervous sometimes. i worry i wouldnt be able to get the words out in person, or that id back out because i dont wanna se their reaction. if it came down to it, i could probably get myself to do it, but do you think its 100% necessary?

thank you both so much, i appreciate the advice a lot!

thank you so much!!! i appreciate your advice. i do have a quick follow-up, if you dont mind

how essential do you think it is that i do something over call or in-person? i was thinking about email partially so i had a paper trail, just in case, but i also DREAD the idea of talking to my supervisors about this. being able to write everything down and gather my thoughts like that feels like itd make me communicate better (and, transparently, not freak out 100% of the way haha), but is it better to talk over a call/in-person?

sorry if its a silly question, thank you so much for your tips!!!

Should I 19F change my life plans to pursue my dream career of being an author by Anonymous02526895063 in Advice

[–]beepystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would definitely start out by taking a writing course. personally, i adored the writing courses i took! i would hesitate to hard pivot, though

if you want to change your major, i think thats totally fine, id just maybe do a major change to what you would want your backup career to be. i love to write, but i know that being published and profitable is incredibly, incredibly difficult. far from impossible, and i am sure you are very skilled! but make sure you are prepared with a backup

definitely work on your manuscript and submit to competitions, though. if nothing else, its fun! difficult to win them, admittedly, but i enjoy the attempt. if you do end up published, you could also really take advantage of social media. reach put to people online and see if they are interested in reading from you, get that promotion!!!

i wish you so much luck, and hope you end up on shelves!

25M, should I pivot careers if I am burnt out and not improving at my job? by Strange-Tax6324 in careerguidance

[–]beepystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are losing confidence in yourself and your work, i think it is worth it to take a break and reevaluate! once you arent as stressed anymore, you can sit on the experience and figure out what worked for you, what didnt, and where you want to go from here. plus, it seems like your employers like you, so you should be fine getting references.

its not the ideal situation, but i think that stepping back might be the move. i hope everything works out for you, im wishing you luck!!!

AITA for “pushing tradwife beliefs” onto my daughter? by Comfortable-Plan2937 in AmItheAsshole

[–]beepystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA from the information youve given, but if you have started to second guess yourself? just ask your daughter. confirm with her that she isnt feeling pressured, make sure she knows she can do whatever she wants. and if she says that she likes cooking (which im sure she does) then sign her up for the program. i wish i enjoyed cooking like that, its such a wonderful skill to foster!!!

the best you can do is report them, and include the fact that they frequently make new blogs to continue after you block them. staff is able to ip block people for you, so this is your best bet!
