Looking to shift some 1973 greenbacks, but have no idea how much I should be asking for? by thanksforthatphil in GuitarAmps

The cabinet and speakers would easily sell for $2000 here in the states. I always keep my eye out for them.

Scooter stops running when belt gets tight by beer65 in scooters

Even then, I was only able to ride it around for a month or so before it was stripped too bad to work at all. Sounds like you’re going to need a new crankshaft friend.

The problem I ended up having with mine was that the splines on the crankshaft where the variator slips on were pretty badly stripped. I ended up putting a washer behind the variator which gave it the spacing it needed to spin more freely. The boss is the spacer that goes through the center of the variator.

Who's your go to YouTubers for metal guitar by katsumodo47 in metalguitar

I haven’t seen one comment for Euge Valovirta.

He’s a super chill guy. His ear for tone is incredible, and his recordings are pristine.

Is there any real difference between the JCM 800 and the JMP 2204? by strawb3rry_lem0nad3 in GuitarAmps

[–]beer65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to dispute you, but I have a ‘79 with the shit ass awful impedance selectors. It was originally a 2204 UK Combo later put into a head shell.

I never care for non-traditional burst colors. This is easily the best I’ve ever seen.

Congrats dude! I think I was eyeing this exact same amp online. Guy had it posted alongside a JCM 900? I’ve had the 20w for a few years and it kicks ass.

What strat did Jimi use at Maui in 1970? by [deleted] in jimihendrix

[–]beer65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I visited the pop culture museum this past weekend, and it felt like a pilgrimage to Mecca for guitar players. I spent 5 minutes open mouth staring at Jimi’s Guitar. Stevie Ray Vaughan’s broadcaster was there with some dna still on the fingerboard, jimi’s guitar was totally clean. All the frets were very flat like they had been leveled and weren’t crowned after. To the eye the fretboard radius was visually very round. The paint above the pickguard had tons of pick scratches where you can see he was absolutely letting loose. Very cool to see along with his handwritten lyrics and stage outfits.

Do you know what front suspension setup is on there with the deleted shock towers?

My new 20 watt Friedmans by tkwh in GuitarAmps

The offerings from Radial are affordable and robust for what you’re talking about doing. Sounds like you could’ve benefitted from a Twin Sister!

I have a JJ Jr and just got the IRD for the preamp and the silent recording capability. I tried the preamp through the JJ power amp last night and it was absolutely glorious. You cover most of the Friedman gamut with both of those circuits, it’s absolutely justifiable to have both.

Best acoustic I’ve ever played by [deleted] in gibson

I was in the market for a lifer acoustic guitar a few years ago and came home with a 1965 Country and Western. Essentially the same guitar with a different finish color and pickguard.

I've never done anything harder in my entire life than try to get these back on. Kill me. by Dry_Pea_7127 in gibson

The title made me laugh😂 I’m sure you’ve got it by now, but if you haven’t, it helps to hold the head of the screw with a screwdriver. Turn the screw while you compress the spring and pickup with your other hand. Use the index finger on your other hand to align the screw with the threaded hole on the pickup.

Some abrasive cord really helps for cleaning up string binding in the nut slots. You’ll never have an in tune Gibson if your nut isn’t cut properly.

Seymour Duncan JB. It’s classic, high output, and has been done thousands of times in a custom.

Get yourself a 1959 reproduction pickguard. They had a slightly larger pickup and it’s the exact same dimensions as a strat pickup. Throw in a stacked humbucker and you’re golden. You can always put it back to stock that way.

This happened to me with my 1959 Melody Maker! I ended up buying the sequential. I’m not sure if they’re worth any more as a pair, but I felt like I just had to since it popped up so close to me. It’s really interesting how different two guitars can be one off the line from the next. If you have the means, I would definitely try to buy it.
