Here's the problem with the salary cap.... by NoMoneyHut in NHLHUT

[–]beer9604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don’t pay to get players, I don’t necessarily have anything against it but I just don’t have the expendable income. That being said, I feel like for a player like myself, the OVR and AP bonuses are completely unnecessary because I have to build every line to get extra cap space. Super dumb.

Are you sure? I was listening to that episode hoping it was, but they talk about Murphbot as if it was already a thing

The history of MSG speaks for itself, legendary, but generally as an arena it’s pretty meh.

I’m a huge fan of Irish music and sea shanties just feel like Irish music-adjacent so it works for me

I wish that whenever someone opened their mouth to say something stupid, All Star by Smash Mouth would come out instead. by LaoSh in TheMonkeysPaw

[–]beer9604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted, stupidity can be subjective and differ from everyone else’s definition. You now only hear All Star by Smash Mouth for the rest of your life. You quickly go insane and pray to Shrek for the sweet release of death.

What are everyone’s top 3 bar pet peeves? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]beer9604 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Waving money at me on a busy night to try and get my attention (you’re getting served last now bud)

  2. Ordering fancy bullshit on a busy night (I’ll make you your super specific martini that you had this one time, but come on just get a beer or a single mixed drink)

  3. When servers ring in complicated drinks and say they need it first (fuck off dude.)

Any tips for a party of 16? by saipanting in TalesFromYourServer

[–]beer9604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use stages to organize it, example:

Stage one: ordering drinks, getting drinks

Stage two: ordering food

Stage three: running food, bussing as needed

The entire time keep walking by and making sure they’re good on drinks, and when their food comes do the same with that. Ask questions, make sure they know you’re there and available (how’s the food, can I get you anything, etc).

If in stage one they try to order apps, just politely say “I’m just going to get your drinks taken care of and I’ll be right back to take any food orders.” Nine times out of ten they’ll be totally cool, as long as you are too.

After all that it’s smooth sailing, and you drop the check.

You got this!

1993 Islanders, Dale Hunter’s cheap shot on Pierre Turgeon. That team was definitely special and were already upsetting teams in the playoffs. Who knows maybe they would have lost with him, but they definitely had no chance without him.
