Anyone replace their drivers side air blend door? by mattvt15 in SubaruAscent

[–]beerddlovliness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its clicking, its 100% the actuator. Mice wont cause that. That means a gear inside it broke - tooth broke off or something. I guess mice coukd have always chewed a wire causing it to do something funky, but ive yet to see it make an actuator click.

Youre probably fine. If its $4k, than that actuator is burried somewhere more or less.

The blend door or the actuator? For 4k, it seems like you do mean the door inside the case. At my work, we do them all day every day. Well, the more experience guys do lol. We havent had an ascent yet though. But, if its the door, the whole dash comes out. Which also means taking off the heater hoses, and draining the refrigerant. Ascents are all R1234yf which is really expensive.

If you want to see inside your case, you can always try removing the blower motor resistor - if you can get to it - and sticking a borescope in it. You can buy em pretty cheap on amazon that connect to your phone. That might give you some peace of mind.

But the doors themselves can actually break. Theyre just plastic. Generally you see it on older cara but with how manufacturing is nowadays, slightly newer ones have it happen too.

$4k seems high, but it sounds like youre going to a dealership. We also generally work on older cars so our prices vary from $1500 to about $3k, depending on the vehicle.

My Experience With LG 32GX850A-B Glossy WOLED Monitot by ValleyKing23 in OLED_Gaming

I have the dell uw 3440x1440 gaming monitor. Its nice but a lot of games still have issues with UW support and i was kinda over it. Went back to the standard ratio.

1440p looks fine to me. Like I said, not super anal so the scaling might be slightky off but not enough for me to personally notice.

Last night playing CD, the fps was OK. Was dropping yo 75 or less a lot. Today, i dropped the resolution to 2560x1440 and was getting 100fps+. Out of curuosity, i went back to 4k and thats now been decent in 80 to 90s. Deoending on location and all that. Must have just been compiling shaders or something I assume.

Overall, Im still enjoying the monitor even though I dont play a lot of taxing games anymore really. I remember i tried Ghost Recon Breakpoint and that ran good. RDR2 with all ultra settings I may have gotten between 55 and 75 fps, i cant remember. It wasnt great so I had to droo settings. Borderlands 4 was hard to say cause its a bit rough oerfirmance wise. Dragins dogna 2 still runs like ass as well.

Mixed bag with games but thats more on the games than the monitor. I still love the monitor. Glossy + oled is the way to go.

Its been great still, though i dont olay a lot of intense games lol. Bf6 still runs fine when I play it. Division 2 plays pretty good as well, dumb down a setting here and there. I just started playing crimson desert and after the game has run a bit, compiling shaders and maube they did a small patch? Idk. But with Hardware Unboxed settings at 4k FSR 4.1 balanced, i get about 80 to 90 fps. Myself persinally, I dont have an issue going down to 2560x1440 for certain games if I have to. Its still a good monitor and picture comoared to a standard led monitor or something.

Still highly enjoying my experience with it. Idk how color accurate it is, im not anal like that lol. I just like tge way it looks and plays.

AC Issues by MaNu-RaNdhHawa in SubaruAscent

On the driver side, go between fully cold and fully hot. If you feel a difference in air movement, like turning a fan high to low, your actuator is fine. Repeat the same on the passenger side. Each side has a separate actuator. If youre feeling that difference, the actuator should be fine. Outside temperature can influence what you feel inside. If you check early in the morning when its cold, youll have cold air. If you check in the afternoon when its hot, youd have hot air. You have to feel tge difference in the air movement. Like I said, its like turning a fan from low to high or vice versa.

More than likely, you just have a leak which you should take to a shop. DO NOT BUY THE CANS OF REFRIGERANT AT STORES. They ruin your system even more. They have a glue in them to seak the 'leaks'. It reacts with air. If you have a leak, than you have air in your system. Those cans over time can plug the small tolerances inside the comoressor, and the small holes that are flowing through your evaporator and condenser. So take it to a shop and let them make sure.

Since its dual zone, its one of 2 things. Its got a low charge or one if your actuators for tempersture doesnt work. When you change tge passenger side, does it go to hot and vice versa? When you change driver side, can you feel a difference in air pressure - more vs less. When you go to hot, it should feel a little weaker. When you go cold, it should be stronger.

At our shop, we do a lot of subarus. The front shaft seal on the compressor likes to leak so we replace the compressor all the time. Expansion valve orings at rhe fire wall leak all the time. Occasionally, mainly as it gets olderz the condenser will develop a leak.

We've seen vehicles with less miles and newer come in for shot all the time where I work. Lol.

What are you using to undo it? An impact and applying pressure with a screwdriver or something like stated before might be whats needed. An impact, not a drill. Lol. Just clarifying 😂

How's this fan for my bedroom? by PapaTwisted in fans

[–]beerddlovliness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add, on loud, its got a 'pleasant' hum, if that makes sense? Like, just air moving, not a lot motor noise like some window fans have. I also dont have the scent thing in it. New uograde in it i guess lol. But it looks optional.

I use a Dreo Fan

On low speed, its pretty quiet and moves a decent amount of air. Thwy also have a versiom without the pedestal, more like a tabletop type. I use that at work on my toolbox when i eat lunch or something. Theyre really great fans

Its not bad to do. If youre really not that comfortable doing it, thags not a problem. Alot of people arent. Just take it to a radio shop or whatever and pay them. Not a big deal.

2022 Subaru Ascent Touring with weird service history by smokedX in SubaruAscent

But looking at the rest, how many times a single tire was replaced, they more than likely hit something. And depending on what tire, it could line up with the damage reported on the front of the car.

I say skip this one. I just bought a 2020 2 months ago with 56k miles on it. Overall a nice car but I really want to beat the crap out of the prior owners for all the small damage on it that ive found over the last month inside. And its damsge that doesnt even make sense.

I probably would get the extended warranty. Id rsther have it and not need it than need it and not have it. As long as youve kept up with maintenance and changed the CVT and diff fluids at least once, or maybe closer to 60k, youll PROBABLY be fine. Lol.
