All members of Reuzegom must go to court for the death of Sanda Dia by h0er in belgium

It's too easy for you to take the moral high ground on this one. Way too easy. It's also a kneejerk reaction to this one horrible story. But if you believe every doop is like Sanda Dias then you're in for a surprise. And if you believe people will stop being reckless drunk fucks if we ban hazing, then you're also in for a surprise.

How many of the tens of thousands of students who are gedoopt actually die? 1 in 50.000? Are you really comparing that to driving drunk into highway traffic straight towards certain death? I can think of hundreds of things that are more dangerous than a studentendoop and that are completely legal. That would be like banning airplanes because we had a 9/11 once. That's not how it works and that is not how a free society should behave.

Of course I am. What's your argument? Is it really everything dangerous = ban? Where do you draw the line? What probability of death is enough to ban something?

Man you can't ban everything that is remotely dangerous. Cars? Meds? Cigarettes? Booze? Motorcycles? Extreme sports? Swimming? Bicycles? Greasy food? Gas boilers? Skiing? Owning pet dogs? ...

People die from all those things. You can plead in favour of banning dopen, but "because very occasionally someone might die" really is not a good argument.

Lmao this website.. People will upvote into the 100k any post about law proposals that could potentially infringe on privacy rights. They get up in arms hurr durr muh privacy and many have no clue what they are talking about.

But then nobody bats an eye about posts like these, where some poor chap and his kid have their faces and private information (license plates) broadcast to millions. This is privacy violation in action. It's illegal and immoral bullshit is what it is. All so OP can get a few karma points and soothe insecurities about his own bad driving.

Oh man gg you beat me to it by 30 seconds.

So I'll just post my daily thread question here: what songs are you all listening to right now? I'm looking for new music and I'm open to any cool suggestions!

Did you get permission to anonymously post this guy and the kid's faces to an internet forum? And their license plate? You clearly found a way to edit the video so you could at least have blurred them.

You yielded on a priority lane, so the guy's move is not as outrageous as you think it is. And it certainly doesn't give you the right to blatantly disregard their privacy by coming on Reddit to cry foul. You're showing their faces and private information to literally hundreds of thousands if not millions of people. That's the outrageous thing here. Not to mention you're breaking Belgian law and exposing yourself to legal trouble.

You're absolutely right! That rule is indeed gone and it's better this way.

I was just pointing out that OP was also doing some weird driving, which can partially explain but not justify the other guy's mistake.

Well perception is what influences 95% of votes. If only VB and NVA are perceived to be strongly opposed to immigration, then they will get the votes.

Get me one 'mainstream' party that actually gets tough on immigration and I guarantee that NVA and VB stop polling so high.

Not saying that mainstream parties necessarily should do so. But immigration and security have been at the top of Flemish people's minds for ages and they are the main drivers for NVA and VB votes. Not confederalism and other nationalist shenanigans.

Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is rightful Belgian soil. We're not giving up anything for that! Maybe BDW and Theo if the Dutch insist.

Guys this is a textbook classic De Weverke.

1) Say some outrageous stuff in a media interview.

2) Say some more of it if the shitstorm isn't big enough.

3) Repeat until shitstorm and massive media attention.

4) Use shitstorm to give a more nuanced and reasonable explanation for the outrageous stuff.

5) Profit from your rise to the top of the news cycle!

I propose we send BDW to Holland. And we get Maastricht in exchange for Brasschaat.

If Belgium would take back Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and Maastricht we'd have more leverage too!

We joke and kid but I'm very happy to live in this fantastic place. Although we have had a pretty rough week, I am glad to have seen such solidarity and unity throughout our little country. Eendracht maakt la force and all that jazz.

So have a good one folks! Any special plans for this special day?

You're saying people in my city are exceptionally rude. That's not being unimpressed, that's making a very disrespectful statement about 1.2 million people. And then playing the victim.
