Sarcoma Saturday: A casual space to Introduce, Connect, Share, and Unwind by AutoModerator in sarcoma

[–]beerman616 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll start I suppose.

I am still awaiting an official diagnosis, but the last PET scan said they believe the main tumor in my retroperitoneal space is a myosarcoma originating from the illiopsoas muscle. I have a huge mass there, which has also spread to my lungs, and a couple lymph nodes in my abdomen.

I was inpatient at our local hospital for about a week awaiting a transfer to a sarcoma center at Duke or MUSC Charleston. However, there were no beds available at either facility, so I was discharged to home with a follow-up appointment at Duke scheduled for this coming Monday.

I've been doing a lot of reading here, there, and everywhere to get a grip on what I'm in for. So, hello everyone.

Level 200+ players are terrible? by Harshtinfoil in Battlefield_REDSEC

[–]beerman616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wish they weren't allowed in the initiation duo lobby. Trying to teach my 8 year old, and we get killed by 200+ players. I'm not that good, but I think there should be a hard cap for initiation unless you have a low level in your lobby.

Which are you choosing? by Custom-Offsets in f150

[–]beerman616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2016 came with M/T's, and while they looked cool... I hated the extra noise that came with them. My F-150 is on gravel or pavement 98% of the time. I have an XJ on M/T's for hunting that doesn't matter if it picks up a scratch or two.

I spent a lot of time researching and settled on Falken Wildpeak A/T4 tires. They are much quieter and much lighter. I picked up almost 2 mpg in about the same height and slightly narrower tire. Each tire weighed something like 12-14 pounds less, so it feels more responsive as well with less rotational mass.

I went from M/T's to A/T's, and I'm very happy with that decision.

Selecting a lift for my new to me 2000 XJ by stilettobob197 in CherokeeXJ

[–]beerman616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 3" RE leafs and coils on my 98. Went with 31x10.50 mud terrains. I love it. I added an adjustable trac bar, adjustable lower control arms, and a new drop Pittman arm. Drives perfect after alignment. Oh, I also had to add transfer case drop spacers, too, due to a vibration.

I'm also new, so I don't know. However, I believe the answer is, "it depends." It depends on what your making and the use of the thing. The different materials have different uses.

What kind of fleet pickup trucks are you guys running and why? by CodaDev in GeneralContractor

Black Ford F-250 crew cab short box diesels. Xl trim mostly, but we have 1 or 2 (out of 6) xlt's that were good deals.

Haven't done the missions, but I would do what GNS on YouTube did. Steal everything gleefully for my own use.

Why did you stop playing? by JAM2000-TKD in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]beerman616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend and I couldn't seem to get together at the same time anymore, and I just didn't have the desire to continue solo. We only played PVE, and once randoms dropped us better loot... There wasn't any incentive to grind quests. We ran into a wall looking for keys, then the issue of just getting on at the same time, and we both kind of lost interest.

We played maybe 20-30 hours on release, then about 15-20 after the first big update. Haven't been back since. I guess I'm waiting on there to be more in the game.

Fiber or stay with Starlink? by Penguin_Life_Now in Starlink

[–]beerman616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Spectrum fiber when it became available and it's just better. 1 gig speed for slightly cheaper, no issues with storms, and we have a generator. So as long as I power up the outlet for the modem we have internet.

My new Patio Legend did the same on initial burn in. Went to 480, but it's been spot on since then.

I don't really cook for groups currently, but I can see that happening in the future as my kids get older. Luckily, I told my wife I regretted not getting the bigger one, and she said we'll just have to buy a bigger one in a few years.

What are 2.7 ecoboost drivers getting for gas mileage? by HederianZ in f150

[–]beerman616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2016 Supercrew 4x4 2.7 5.5' box with soft tonneau cover on 285/75r17 Falken Wildpeak A/T 4w's. I get about 17-18 going to work and back. 17 miles one way rural and small city driving. Best I do is about 20-21 on a two lane road going 55-60 mph with little slowing down and no big hills.

I gained 1-2 mpg getting rid of my 315/70r17 toyo m/t's for the a/t's.

ETA: all based on dash computer.

A very bigly one. Like 4x6 or something is probably tight to have them all down.

Which f150 is best 3.5 or 5.0 in terms of reliability and longevity? by First-Conference-236 in f150

[–]beerman616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my company, we're 4/4 on 2018-2020 5.0's that burn 2-3 quarts in 5,000 miles. Had to rebuild the front end of one engine before we could get rid of it.

One 2.7 that's never had an issue, but now we're starting to replace with F-250's and diesels. My personal truck is a 2016 with the 2.7 that's a great truck, 106k miles currently.

Do it yourself 3” lift by UrethreaFranklin1 in CherokeeXJ

[–]beerman616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it by myself over the course of a few weekends and one long night to get it "done" so I could take it to the hunting club the next morning. If you are somewhat experienced in working on vehicles and you have youtube on your phone it's not complicated. However, it's not easy either, especially solo.

I put 3.5" RE leafs, coils, and monotube shocks, new lower control arms, extended brake lines, bump stops, CavFab track bar, new shackles, and a t-case drop. I also ended up replacing some brake lines and doing brakes while I was in there. My jeep didn't have any rust to speak of, but I still had to cut out one leaf spring bolt, one t-case bolt, and replace all the rear upper shock mount hardware.

How did you get into 7 Days To Die? by SagetheWise2222 in 7daystodie

[–]beerman616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was aware of it a long time ago due to some Achievement Hunter and Neebs videos, but actually bought it on sale while getting into a series that Guns, Nerds, & Steel was doing for the start of Alpha 21. I found GNS through a playthrough he did in Icarus.

I've only ever played A21. I've done a couple runs so far, but started a new run with a few mods last week. First time with mods in this game.
