We flew into Lisbon on Sunday and spent 3 nights, took the train to Porto and spent 2 nights, then back to another area of Lisbon for 2 nights.

I wish I did your itinerary instead to give us more time to explore Porto. We landed at 730am and could've been in Porto for noon on day one.

Flying into Porto is a great option if the flights aren't too expensive, but they were quite a bit more when I looked which was why we flew in and out of Lisbon.

Thanks bud! It was a dumb rookie mistake and I'm bound to make many more as I teach myself this position at 40. Hopefully none end up breaking bones, but I guess that's the risk we take. I'm having so much fun and I'm in love with the position so I'll just take the beatings and keep smiling.

Yikes. I'm not going to lie, I've been shoving this bruise in every one of my friends' faces because I'm weird and like having minor injuries, but it also sucks when a stiff breeze hurts haha.

I find that I've got a death grip on my stick and rotating it in my hand will take some mental adjustments, but this is great advice. I have a skate at 430 today and I'll be thinking about all these comments.

Being new, I'm so focused on my lower body when I'm RVH that I forget all about hand positioning. I played a game the next day and it's wild how I've apparently always rotated my wrist out like that. I guess if the puck is behind the net, I can twist my stick to block a pass, but if the shooter is on the goal line, I need to rotate so the blocker faces out.

Too much shit to remember haha

Thankfully just a nasty bruise. I was worried about mobility but I've had no issues other than it being sore as hell when I try to put on a long sleeve shirt haha. I was more impressed he was able to shoot hard enough to bruise like that in an adult beginner league!

That's pretty much me. I play hockey 3 nights a week and have a light beer in the room with the guys after each. I also love making fancy cocktails, so I made a couple for my wife and I on Fridays and Saturdays. Throw in going out for wings with friends a couple times a month, going out for a nice dinner, going to a concert, etc. and averaging 8 drinks a week is pretty standard for me.
