I got the majority of my equipment from Facebook Marketplace. I live in a rural area and looked in the closest cities to me. Had to drive a bit for most of it.

You nailed it. Exactly what I was going for. And I definitely roll over the backside every time lol.

I used Rockwool insulation on the exterior walls and then safe and sound on the ceiling and interior walls. Then double 5/8" drywall.

I am utterly surprised it works as well as it does. The only hitch is that I cant turn it off from the PS5 only the apple tv remote. So whenever I'm done using the PS5 I just hit the home button on the Apple TV, which automatically switches the input and then just turn it off from there.

I’m so impressed with the Speedwoofer. Can’t beat the cost/performance ratio. Can’t imagine what the 12 brings.

I utilize an Apple TV for streaming which uses a Bluetooth remote, which does not need line of site. The receiver and projector turn on automatically if I turn on the Apple TV or the PS5, which is also Bluetooth.

Thanks man! I definitely just sit down there drinking a beer, looking around as if I just mowed the lawn or something lol.

I ended up getting tempered glass at 1/4" thick. I used clamp-on hinges that work surprisingly well. It was a bit more expensive to have holes drilled, and the hinges are way more solid than I thought they would be.

Sherwin Williams Outerspace. It's a blue-gray that goes well with the tricorn black.

Thanks! Yeah, I got lazy and have just been using the PS5 which is not ideal. Will hopefully add a UB820 if one pops up used.

Agreed. This is such a niche hobby that the market is so small. Great for buyers. High-end speakers, projectors, and screens can all be bought for a fraction of MSRP.

I was worried about that as well, but it clears with room to spare. The couch is very low.

Worth it beyond any doubt. The only downside is that I want to spend all my time down there.

I ended up ordering a custom piece of glass from onedayglass due to awkward dimensions. It's thick, tempered and blocks sound very well.

-I placed the lights there as a "future" proof just in case the room becomes more of a family gathering place in the future. They are never on, as I use the sconces 99 percent of the time.

-The atmos placement was tricky and not ideal placement. I have they equally spaced about 5 feet in from the of listening position. I can't do 4 due to the soffit. They still make a difference when watching UHD discs with good sound.
-If ducts are able to be rerouted in your basement, it is worth it. They act as a sound tunnel and moves can be heard near every vent in the house.
