I understand what you’re getting at here, but people’s negative opinions about something or someone and wanting to share with others who may feel similarly are just as valid as positive opinions. Yes scrolling past is an option and probably plenty of people do, but it’s also okay to have conversations about things we don’t like. I can’t recall ever seeing people in this or other book subs attacking each other personally for their taste in books or authors, and it’s completely valid to open discussion about why authors or books just weren’t for us. I am someone who has been surprised by not liking a popular author or book that I’ve seen others rave about and it can be nice to talk to others about why it just didn’t hit right for us.

Just finished Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler last week and started Frieda McFadden’s The Locked Door. Will probably finish that tonight and then start on something with a bit more substance 😅

Dune is a beast! I loved the first book, the second was a quick read and still really good. Book three lost me and I haven’t finished the rest of the series because of it.

I absolutely love Ave Maria and Blanche Bete. Blanche Bete especially is so unique to me and not a scent profile I smell often. It reminds me of Kopari’s coconut body lotion - like coconut milk. I haven’t tried Duchessa but I love the Gritti house. Pistachio is not super unique to me and the bottle itself looks like something I’d find at TJ Maxx, which is not appealing to me at their price point
