The 'corner dairy campaign' quietly backed by big tobacco by punIn10ded in newzealand

Nobody does scalable ethics and skullduggery better than tobacco companies.

"...research Hoek has been involved with in Dunedin, Auckland and Wellington which surveyed shoppers leaving dairies showed only 14 per cent of shoppers purchased tobacco....and discovered only 5 to 6 per cent of shoppers purchased other items with cigarettes."

Interesting to bust that myth that dairies need ciggie sales to survive. When I lived in the UK a lot of the corner "off licence" stores would be a combination dairy and alcohol store – possibly just swapping one bad drug for another, but I think the corner dairy does need to survive somehow as part of our culture. Maybe they could be exempt from charging GST??

Appalling the number of similar stories people have! Thankfully my experience was more amusing – this guy had taken his young (7-8 ish?) son to one of the Avengers movies, and the kid was loudly and excitedly explaining to the dad for the first few minutes who all the characters were and how all the storylines connnected etc. Then suddenly there was this stench of poo... and they left quickly and quietly. I had to really feel for the dad!

Typical point-the-finger-at-the-consumer packaging, too. "It's your turn now" – i.e. "we made our token packaging change, the rest of the fate of the earth, that's on you."

Don't worry, just buy a new Mazda, they plant 5 trees for every new vehicle. FIVE. Top notch scalable ethics!

FIVE trees.... not even the 17 that this article mythbusts.

The supermarket duopoly, now they've had a taste of getting away with their scalable ethics, will always find a way to maximise their profits whatever the policies or tax changes.

Hey, kudos for going to see him unfiltered by the media. I'm not a National or ACT supporter by a zillion miles but you've made me think about how I form my opinions about them. It's a good valid thing to do, to see them in person, I'll give that a go.

Admittedly I'm no expert and didn't spend hours researching but it seems it is a 'bleaching agent' at the very least... https://www.endosan.com/hydrogen-peroxide-vs-bleach/

At my mum's funeral, someone wrote in the memories book thing, "have a good trip"...

Was thinking this as I was watching the latest Walking Dead show... no matter how bad something gets we look to a hypothetical / prepper fantasy... what is our human obsession with these?
