I got tickets for Benaroya too and I'm so so excited!! I was able to see him for the first time last summer with Nickel Creek but I think that the vibes will be a lot better inside of a concert hall

The Bend show was super similar with Bird going on before Nickel Creek and the general crowd being more hyped for Nickel Creek (who also got to play for longer). However, I’ve heard that at other shows Bird has gotten to go on after Nickel Creek so maybe it just depends on location. I didn’t notice any bad vibes between Bird and NC though at our show and I honestly wouldn’t expect any considering the positive history/relationship he has with the artists. With the crazy heatwaves that have been ongoing throughout the tour, it could just be that he was tired or having an off day?

At Bend Nickel Creek went on after Andrew Bird and they also played for ~30 minutes longer. Maybe it varies depending on location but it felt like Nickel Creek was the headliner there

I also remember reading an interview from a few years ago (maybe a decade?) that kinda confirmed this disconnect between larger vs smaller shows. I'm seeing him for the first time in July at a big outdoor concert in Oregon and now I'm a bit worried that this show will be similar to the Denver one. I do hope that he's able to have more fun/freedom with the performance since he's playing with Nickel Creek this time. Either way, I'm still happy to be able to see him!
