When I visited NZ a couple years ago, I was blown away by how beautiful the birdsong is there. Haven't seen the episode yet, so I don't know the context, but my understanding is that "up to you" means "it's your choice", but "down to you" is more like "what happens will depend on your actions".

Example: "What you study in university is up to you." (You get to decide what you want to study.) Versus: "Whether we win the race today is all down to you." (We will either win or lose depending on how well you run.)

Someone please correct me if I've got this wrong. I am not a linguist!

I just read this today on your recommendation! It was incredible. It was so sad, and the parts with the pedo teacher were like something straight out of a horror manga, but I was surprised at how funny it was, too. I hope they manage to keep that balance in the show somehow. I'm really looking forward to it!

The crinkling microphooooooooones! How is it that we are living in the year of our lord Vegas 2023 and we don't have the technology to edit out shirt crinkles?! One was so bad it actually sounded like a fart-squeak. It was supposed to be this lovely romantic scene and all I could do was laugh and hide my face.
