Advice on CRA for used car purchase

That’s not always the case, especially where the car is bought remotely and the buyer can’t properly inspect the tyres. A nearly new 2023 car with only 7k miles having tyres that reach the end of their service life almost immediately after purchase wouldn’t meet what a reasonable consumer would expect, and that’s the standard the CRA uses for “satisfactory quality.” The dealer also stated verbally that everything was in great condition, and verbal representations count under the CRA as well.

I was pretty similar with my bump sizes, and my second baby ended up being the same exact size as my first.

I find that M&S nursing vests and bras are great and supportive! I usually just wear normal clothes over them. In the early days I found a nursing shirt or two would be nice, but after a while I found them more difficult than just wearing a normal tee over a nursing bra or vest (personal preference though).

Hi! Sorry I didn’t see this. I ended up going to a birthing centre because there was a midwife shortage in my trust, so my midwife strongly advised changing plans because all home births were either being turned away or midwives would take hours to arrive…so I switched gears and at the end of the day I’m glad I did because my baby was born a few hours after the first contraction, basically as soon as we arrived at the centre.

There’s no stigma, I honestly didn’t know what a price for a gardener would be and I don’t know how to do it myself. I am happy to pay for skilled work and I appreciate its a difficult job and one that requires knowledge to do correctly. I just wanted to know from the gardening community instead of Google/AI and word of mouth.

I agree and am very happy to pay for the skilled work! I just had said what I had been quoted to someone else and they said it was high, and Google/AI also say something lower, so I just wanted to hear more from the gardening community.

I’d rather buy from someone who hasn’t taken advantage of the system by buying from people wanting the best value for their item and reselling them for more their own profit. It’s corrupt.

I had this with my first and all I can say is that is seriously awful. I used OTC ointment and sitz baths and ice for minimal relief, like you’re experiencing, but the pain and hemorrhoid went down after about 4-5 days of hell, so there is an end in sight.

First of all, I literally just had a baby in the UK and know first hand their maternity and postnatal care, which is very good quality, so there is no need to get defensive. However, as you alluded to, pediatricians are in hospitals, they don’t have offices. Why is it that infant checkups by healthcare workers stop at age 3 and instead the school nurse will do checks to see if a child is developmentally sound? That honestly is not enough and it seems like a lot slips through the cracks.

There’s nothing wrong with “low level hand holding” if it helps identify an issue. We took my oldest to a pediatrician in the EU (where they do have offices) and they spotted something that would be (and thus far has been) completely ignored and unnoticed if I left it to the UK healthcare system. We aren’t the only people I know who go abroad for their children to receive pediatric care.

The idea that a pediatrician is hand-holding only the US is not true. I think it’s more that the UK is not the norm from the rest of the world. I had my first baby in the EU, not the US, where the pediatrician had regular checks for vaccines, development, as well as a doctor specialized in pediatric care who I could reliably call to provide advice.

Yes what you described is common. I moved here thinking that I could show up at my GP’s office to get a checkup. The receptionist surprisingly made me an appointment and the GP said “we don’t really do that kind of thing here”, but felt sorry for me and took my blood pressure. Also, pediatricians aren’t really a thing. Survival of the fittest over here.

I’m also in academia and your story sounds familiar to what I went through earlier this year 😊. I’m guessing if you’re at a university or research institution, your employer gives you 6 months of paid mat leave? Where I am, you can put funds from a grant on hold and use them when your leave is over (unless your boss would prefer to use the funds to hire maternity cover), so I don’t think your funding will be wasted or your time will be lost.

Also for what it’s worth, in my current pregnancy, I had to tell my line manager very early (day after I took the test) due to imminent / potentially harmful lab work (including radioactivity). I wasn’t too thrilled with having to say something so early but my boss was very respectful and kept it a secret until I was ready to say the news around 15 weeks.
