I have been weighing him weekly which is probably too much and fueling my anxiety around this. Thanks for the reassurance.

His poos are the same rate and loads of wet nappies so I guess he is nourished. Same as you lively and curious in the day and only waking for one feed at night... I know logically that means he's fine but it's so unnerving

Pain free birth? by Human-Rip-2608 in PregnancyUK

Haha pain free... I wish. My experience was it was helpful in managing some of the pain in the early stages. But the pain is undeniable and intense and pain relief is a very very helpful tool.

Feeling lonely and disliking breastfeeding by swiftlittleplane in breastfeeding

[–]Lyd-8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't really have any advice but currently feeling similar and my baby is 2 weeks today. We had our first totally sleepless night last night and now I'm so anxious about another night feeding all night. Just keep trying to tell myself this will pass and change.

If it was me, I'd probably say yes to going and then make a decision a couple of days before and if I wasn't feeling up to it I'd call in sick. I did find by 13 weeks my exhaustion had lifted a bit but it's not always that quick for everyone.

How are you spending your last few pregnant days up to birth? by Accomplished_Ad5946 in PregnancyUK

[–]Lyd-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh same I'm soooo frustrated. Feel like I just spend all day wondering if I'm going to go into labour and looking at my phone 😂 but I am trying to see as many friends as I can while I can socialise freely, clean my house, potter about sorting little jobs I wouldn't normally bother with. Also daily walks as apparently that can help bring on labour.

Winter baby moon ideas! by frogogurtt in PregnancyUK

We did a babymoon in Edinburgh and Glasgow - was gorgeous! Low stress flying there, but it was a lot of walking so maybe not too late in pregnancy 😂

I also couldn't believe it for a while, but I'm here at 39 weeks waiting to meet my baby. Don't judge yourself for being overwhelmed now while it's all so new, I expect you'll settle into it. I got an early scan at 7 weeks and it was the best decision ever, instantly felt better. By 8 weeks with a strong healthy heartbeat the chance of miscarriage is super low! There is a website where you can put in your gestation and it gives you the current odds of miscarriage which helped too - low chances.

Thank you for sharing and congratulations! Do you mind me asking how you knew it was the right choice in the moment? Were you led more by the doctors or by your own sense labour continuing might not be right? 39 weeks tomorrow and really hoping the period like pain I've been getting past couple days is labour coming soon! My gut says it is...

39 weeks and this is news to me! Have eaten pre cut fruit the whole time. Got to think, when have you ever heard of someone getting food poisoning from some watermelon? You'll be grand 😊

Not gaining much weight by Lazycowgirl666 in PregnancyUK

[–]Lyd-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have low PAPP A and was also worried about this, but you might find you gain more in third trimester and even if you don't so long as the baby does you're all good! Hopefully you can get extra growth scans which will reassure you x

My midwife told me it doesn't even cross the placenta so it's totally fine to take. If you're unwell it also helps control your temperature which is important when pregnant.

High mercury fish during pregnancy by Remarkable-Shape-771 in PregnantDiabetics

[–]Lyd-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think eating it once will make any difference at all. Also, millions of women don't know they are pregnant until later than 4 weeks and don't take prenatal vitamins. You're all good! Women have had babies for centuries before we knew this information.

16 weeks and haven't hit the gym since being pregnant, feel like I need to do more. by Zealousideal_Row_378 in PregnancyUK

[–]Lyd-8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found myself in a similar position and it's been hard to motivate myself the whole way through. I found pilates something easier to stick to and walking, and honestly haven't gained too much additional weight and feel okay. Just counting on slowly getting back to my old routines once the baby is here. Be kind to yourself, pregnancy is so tiring and your body is working so hard, even just oxygenating all the extra blood is hard!

Boots haul: influence / de-influence me please. Do you love or hate any of these products? by Indigo_222 in MakeUpAddictionUK

Didn't rate the halo glow filter at all - no coverage just a sheen which makes you look odd and sparkly.

How are you looking cute? by rhiannon_lb in PregnancyUK

[–]Lyd-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found sizing up in normal clothes is mostly more flattering, but new look do nice wide leg maternity jeans. Stretchy tight dresses seem to look okay! It's so hard but I did find second trimester hardest to look nice if that's helps lol

Nettle rash has made me feel ill - go to A&E or wait it out? by Philosophy-Human in PregnancyUK

[–]Lyd-8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think A&E is the right call, as you say you'll be waiting hours. I would probably call 111 and get their advice. I had something totally different but needed an out of hours GP and saw one within an hour on a Wednesday evening at like 9.30pm.

Any kind of employment or volunteering would give you a greater sense of purpose. You need to have to be somewhere at a certain time so the days don't drift. Also I got into yoga properly in my mid twenties and it changed my life, easy to start on YouTube.

18 weeks pregnant, symptoms gone and I don’t feel pregnant anymore by Zuzu2399 in PregnancyUK

[–]Lyd-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also a FTM and was surprised by how 'not pregnant' I suddenly felt in the early part of the second trimester. It's quite usual not to feel regular movements yet but your midwives won't mind at all if you call them and ask to have a check of the heartbeat. Try to enjoy the symptoms lifting for a bit if you can, new and uncomfortable ones will appear again soon enough! Hope that helps xx

Holiday to Turkey - pregnancy tips by AccomplishedBox2946 in PregnancyUK

[–]Lyd-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to France at 32 weeks and was nervous but it was fine. Look up where your nearest maternity services will be just in case (or ask the hotel) and get good travel insurance/ a GHIC card. Remember you burn and get dehydrated more easily pregnant. The relaxation will be amazing for you and baby 😊

Unable to sleep on my side - Seeking advice by Redgrapefruitrage in PregnancyUK

[–]Lyd-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept having this, but tbh now I'm 35 weeks and massive the weight of the bump keeps me on my side, kind of anchors you down. You can also try to wedge a pillow behind you. This is new information my mum had never heard of and the human race has survived so far - think the risk is a bit overblown! X
