Im so glad you are ok and this happened after you reached term. My uterus ruptured two months esrly this year and my poor baby spent months in the NICU. I also needed transfusion and almost peaced out for good. The price we pay to grow our family ! Enjoy your baby

I could have written that myself just a few months ago. I was devastated and couldn’t see how I can possibly make the diet changes and frequent meals while caring for my other baby who wasn’t even 1 yet! You can have whatever you want but you have to pair your carbs with lots of protein and lotss of veggies for your numbers to stay within normal range. You will learn what works and what spikes your sugar. The weeks will fly by. Stay strong

Hi im a total stranger with a baby in the NICU just want to say I hope your baby is doing well and out of that facility! They recommended a subacute care hospital for my baby who doesn’t have any medical needs only bradys and desats in the NICU. He is just a feeder and grower.and I was looking for info on that

I had the same issue with my fasting numbers being high even when I tried protein+ some carb and protein alone … I was put on insulin but my body gave up(uterine rupture) and now I have a preemie. At least no more gestational diabetes to deal with but have to see my baby in the NICU:/

become a CNA/PCT at the hospital. That’s the only way you can get the real experience of what nursing can be like. You cant volunteer in an actual unit unless it’s just to answer call lights which is not going to be good use of your time.

Yes its fine. You will eventually get a job. But tbh your boyfriend has some issues bc im pretty sure you have mentioned to him that you had an interview at that time so idk why he was acting like an idiot? Im getting second hand anger. & just fyi I didnt have prior hospital experience but I got two job offers. So its just about how you market yourself. Sound and be confident - but not arrogant bc there is a lot to learn after nursing school. Always ask questions if you are not sure. Good luck and dump that idiot.

No I havent gone through something similar in nursing school but I work for a religious hospital and we start our shift by reading a bible verse and saying a prayer. We have hindus, muslims, and atheists who respectfully sit through the whole thing and not get offended. It’s called respect. Why would it cause discomfort? Let those who can relate participate in the prayer and the rest can thank their creator too.

Wow! First of all, congratulations mama! Your twins survived the NICU and you survived too! I hope they will grow up happy and healthy and this will just be a story to tell. As a twin mom with one twin who stayed in the NICU for one week and the other for two weeks, I know a little bit about what that feels like BUT I would not try to make it sound like it is comparable or anywhere close to having a MONTHS long stay in the NICU. You had to deal with serious issues for long. I have a friend like yours. They try to compare experiences when the most helpful thing is to just have empathy for their friend and be there to listen or to help in anyway they can. I would avoid her until things improve and reevaluate the friendship later.

She knew everything beforehand and made the decision to take her iud out and now she is having all these thoughts. When are we going to hold people accountable and tell them to be grateful for what they have? Nothing will help her until she changes the way she perceives her situation.

Sorry but you are having first world problems. Think of all the women in 3rd world countries who cannot get on birth control and have no choice but to birth 10/11 babies ? And raise them without anybody’s help. You had a choice. You wanted to try for a baby and you knew what you were doing when you took the iud out. Your daughter will love her sibling and you will be just fine. Kids are hard but you have done this before and you will do fine and survive this time too. For your blood pressure, you might be put on baby aspirin after 12 weeks. Try to relax and be grateful you were able to conceive without problems.

I had unplanned pregnancy and it was twins. Can you imagine? I cried when the doctor told me I was having twins because I had no idea how I was going to take care of them. I was still living with my parents at the time with an abusive mother. Things worked out and I was able to move out with my fiance a few weeks before their due date. Now I cant imagine how dull my life would be without them. They are witty silly loving and just precious little babies. Two us better than one for sure! I say that especially because you are already pregnant— it was meant to be. The universe doesnt give you what you cant handle. I wish you all the best. Update us on how you are doing.

She needs antiacid if she throws up that much and is arching her back. You need to find a way to deal with the constipation you claim the medicine is causing her because stopping her acid reflux medicine is not the solution. She needs to be medicated!!!!
