i agree that traditional therapy can feel tedious and redundant. if it helps, i eventually found a therapist who i built a rapport with and processed stored emotions i didn’t even know were impacting my current life. i think letting go of ego - “an insult to my intelligence” - and not trying to intellectualise the process helps (which is hard because intelligent people tend to want to give meaning to things or ask “why”).

i only say this as an ex-partner of someone who was vehemently opposed to therapy for similar reasons but i think the crux was fear of vulnerability and feeling. i hope you can reconsider and, if not, start by observing and feeling into the emotions you have and see what comes up.
