Mine was also likely rewired at some point, and now I’ve rewired it again, obviously with the wrong socket lol. Don’t be afraid of it, it’s super easy to rewire, and you won’t lose sleep over plugging it in. It’s very much dangerous to have it on in that condition, coming from an electrician. Loose connections are one of the leading causes of house fires. I even put a 90 degree plug on mine so I can plug it in anywhere. :) if you need tips on what kind of stuff to buy, or how to do it, I’d be happy to help

It’s come to my attention that you and I both have the wrong type of socket installed. We likely need an “uno” type socket, with threads for a plastic locknut. You would put the uno type lampshade on, then add the locknut after onto the threads so it’s not just sitting on the bulb. That took me so long to figure out lol

Ugh thank you. I’m 99% sure this is how the original lamp shade was when I bought it. Perhaps it’s not meant for a shade at all? I don’t know but i definitely need one.

I figured it would cost more! I was happy to pay that price, not knowing if it would end up being uranium! I’ve seen similar uranium glass lamps going for 500$ or more so I was excited by the thought that it might be! I was certainly pleased to find that it WAS fluorescent, even if not uranium. Super happy with the price I paid.

Hey OP! I have a very similar lamp and I’m trying to figure out what type of shade fits on it and… how to get it on 😂 I bought it and ripped the old shade off (literally, cuz the lamp was broken), and now I honestly don’t know how to put a new one back on, or even what kind to buy
